A world without Billionaires???

There would be no Stanford or Yale. There would be no Johns Hopkins Med School. No Metro Opera House. There would be only 2 or 4 teams in the NFL. There would be no Nobel Prize. There would be no Stephen A Swartzman NY Public Library branch. No specialty Medical Research centers. No California Wildlife Center. No Monterrey Bay Aquarium.. PBS would be a 4th rate network..

It's really a VERY VERY long list. Basically -- any building with a person's name on it who was NOT a patriot or a politician. And MANY MORE places WITHOUT any credit given to them..

not to mention that a billionaire like Jobs sold 100's of billions in products to folks who wanted to buy nothing else with that money. This is exactly how our standard of living increases. We could all be billionaires if only we he had something to sell that everyone wanted to improve their lives.

As of course this is not to mention the millions of jobs he created.

We must hate billionaires as liberals do!!

And can you explain why Ford is still going strong even though Henry has been dead for quite some time?

I believe if the accumulation of personal assets were limited to $20 million nothing would change except there would be lots more millionaires, no billionaires and a socially healthier Nation. What do you think of that?

Jobs gave us 100's of billions in innovative products we wanted to buy more than any other. That is not sucking you idiot, it is gifting!!

Henry Ford made $1.49 per car for gifting millions of cars to people that they previously could not afford. That is sucking??

That would never happen in this system. The system is set up for the money to flow in one direction. You could 'redistribute' it all tomorrow, and before long it would all be back in the hands of the same people.

While it is true that you could take everything away from the billionaires today and spread it around. In a year it would all be back in the pockets of the billionaires. But it's not because there is a system that benefits billionaires. Obviously not. Because such a system would benefit a billionaire no matter who it was. It's because some people, the ones who become billionaires, have a mind of wealth creation. They have ideas, they take risks, they innovate. Someone else goes shopping, they blow a million dollars of cocaine up their nose. They gamble, they have FUN! Boy do they enjoy that money. Then it's gone and they are poor.

The system is one of meritocracy. It benefits the best. The rest are poor. They should learn to live within and enjoy their own LIMITATIONS instead of being envious.

You think income tax is the only tax?

FICA taxes support FICA programs. Programs that are Universal and meant to provide similiar benefits for similiar premium contributions. And since we're discussing FEDERAL taxes -- that about covers the statement that they pay NOTHING into the General Fund.

This might be hard for you to understand but the tax on non-taxable income levels is zero. In spite of recent changes in its character this is still America where we do not reach down and take food out of the mouths of poor children.

Perhaps you haven't heard about it but there is an economic crisis in America in that all the money has been siphoned upward to a very small minority of the rich, the super-rich and a newly emerging category of wealth which may appropriately be called the American neo-aristocracy. This upper category has all the money and even if they presently pay most or all of the taxes, considering the amount they have managed to accumulate and hoard it is nowhere near enough.

Don't take my word for it, ask Warren Buffet. He stands apart from the cult of greed and he understands the situation better than the rest of us because he is closest to it.
