I'm not so sure recess appointments are the end game.

However, for any vacant positions that exist during the 60-day period beginning on a transitional Presidential inauguration day, an acting officer may serve in the position for no longer than 300 days beginning on the inauguration day or the date of the vacancy, whichever is later.

I'm no legal expert and did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but it kinda sounds like trump came label the entire gang of idiots he's nominated "acting" and keep them on for about 10 months. Cuz I can't believe he thinks Gabbard, Gaetz, RFK, or Hegseth will survive a confirmation process when Senate Dems drill down on their lack of qualifications.
republicans hold a 6 member majority in the senate .. Trump won the election by such a huge margin that I doubt many Republicans will vote against his nominees unless something glaring and disqualifying is revealed during the nomination and vetting process ..

Why not get a Pvt 1st Class, they'd probably have more battlefield experience?

I mean, you'll be looking to others to help contain China as you always do, like helping you out in your clusterfuck in Afghanistan. Shouldn't you give your allies the most experienced warrior? A Pvt 1st Class.

Your allies deserve nothing less than a SoD with extensive battlefield experience.
The clusterfuck in Afghanistan was the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of President Joe Biden. You foreigners are so ignorant. And General Milley attended your precious Staff College at all levels and pledged his allegiance to Xi Jinping. I'll take ten Pete Hegseths over one traitor General Milley.

they cant prevent it ..

They can. Otherwise Trump wouldn't be trying to get them to go along.

Republican senators have already noted they are not about to cede their powers of confirmation.

Sure. He invaded, bombed it to rubble, went squealing to allies for help, then did a 180 and buggered off, the American way. It was all him.

You can tell that by the gratitude received by the allies who spent blood and treasure assisting the US to attempt to clean up its clusterfuck.

They would have deserved a Pvt 1st Class as a proper warrior SoD.

Lol. Couldn't have been any worse...

A cyber Bell's Whiskey, the reputed whiskey of the Scottish working man, on it.

Trump will own the US Senate before inauguration.

You continue to show your COMPLETE IGNORANCE of Pete Hegseth's military record. Fine with me, we all know you are a foreign know nothing bozo. Keep digging that hole, sonny.

Gaetz? After what comes out of the investigation? Yes, I believe they will.

When Obama was going to try to make recess appointments, the Senate used parliamentary tricks to technically stay in session his entire term to prevent those appointments. During recesses, there would be one guy in the chamber who would gavel the Senate into session, and then close the session one minute later.

It was a dick move.

Now we see Trump getting ready to appoint the worst possible whackadoos to the most important posts in government.

Not even the Republicans will allow him to get them into office with recess appointments.

They are going to have to go through the constitutional advise and consent process, and Matt Gaetz is going to be looking for another job. And maybe a few others.

Just so you know who you are dealing with, cmn is a kiwi that literally cheers the deaths of American soldiers. His knowledge of the military would not fill a sheep's rectum.

Hate to break it to you, but even the New York Post has cited that he earned two Bronze Stars and two Commendation Medals. Facts are stubborn things.
I hate many things as well. I commented on your post cause I liked the post. I highlighted what you posted so that it it was prominent in my post.

You read too much into my use of the ellipsis

see post #21.

I believe Senators have questions about a few and they aren't going to just let it go. If they can pass muster there is no reason to recess appoint them.
