I'm not so sure recess appointments are the end game.

I never said that. Stick to what I said.

Gaetz isn't getting confirmed. I think Gabbard could get the votes.

I'm betting Hegseth has some real skeletons in his closet. It's why Trump doesn't want to do this right.
Exactly. Trump wants to do recess appointments precisely because even he knows his choices are pieces of shit.

After 10 months on the job they will be more than qualified. Guess you didn't think it through.
Yeah, on the job training while being in control of the world's most powerful military. What a great idea.

Where did I get triggered? I'm discussing a subject. Why does that bother you?
it doesn't bother me at all .. I just find it amusing that Dems think Gaetz has no chance of being aproved by the new republican led senate ..

or maybe he wants to hit the ground running so he can undo the damage he believes was done by the last admin ..

Congress isn't going to allow it to happen. Moot.
You're saying Congress can prevent him from naming acting agency heads? Is there a link for that?

No idea why you continue to want to bring up irrelevant subjects into our discussion.

Kevin McCarthy has said he has no chance. Others have chimed in also.

If they could get confirmed, Trump would have no need to be trying to push through recess appointments. Even if they are simply questionable, they would get appointed.

There has to be reasons Trump believes they would never pass confirmation.

most admins lose seats in the mid terms .. but republicans have a 6 seat majority in the Senate now .. may lose the House in 2 yrs but Dems winning the Senate is going to be a much tougher row to hoe ..
In 2024, 19 Democrats were up for re-election in the Senate while only 11 Republicans were. That's why the Republicans gained the majority.

In 2026, the tables will be turned. 20 Republicans and 13 Democrats will be up for re-election.

still a tough hill to climb ..

I believe ya got that backwards ..
Nah. Don't you remember Dubya and Cheney whining for help when the results of their stupidity became apparent even to them?

or maybe he wants to hit the ground running so he can undo the damage he believes was done by the last admin ..
Then he shouldn't have nominated a bunch of clowns.

the process is the process .. and Gaetz may not be confirmed .. but he has a very good chance .. regardless Trump is to popular today for Rino's to thwart many of his appointees ..
They just thwarted his pick for Senate Majority Leader

I would prefer Ronald McDonald as CIC over Trump.

He does his makeup better and does not conceal he is a clown.
only one thousand five hundred and twenty eight looooong days till 1/20/29 when Trump leaves the political scene ..

However, for any vacant positions that exist during the 60-day period beginning on a transitional Presidential inauguration day, an acting officer may serve in the position for no longer than 300 days beginning on the inauguration day or the date of the vacancy, whichever is later.

I'm no legal expert and did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but it kinda sounds like trump came label the entire gang of idiots he's nominated "acting" and keep them on for about 10 months. Cuz I can't believe he thinks Gabbard, Gaetz, RFK, or Hegseth will survive a confirmation process when Senate Dems drill down on their lack of qualifications.
It's trump ,anything underhanded is possible and likely. Bas d on his life history.
