I'm Not Really Sure Who's The True Hero Here?

Pushing through the thick woods like that can wear a person out if they're not in shape. And if not woods savvy everything can look the same. Looks like kids and adults both had rough time

Don't get me wrong, the police officer helped out too, but it sure seems to me like the volunteer did a lot more work.

When it comes to these things, the whole effort matters. All the people who don't find them are still adding to the outcome by eliminating possibilities. A 5 acre area searched with no recovery is one less 5 acre area to be searched. I used to volunteer with a now defunct local organization that did this sort of stuff. Most of the calls I went on were Dementia/Alzheimers elderly people. They are particularly hard to search for because some of them can cover a lot of ground fast with nothing purposeful about their route and a lot of people who have seen them might think they are just an old person out for a stroll and thought nothing of it.
