‘I’m Not Jumping in After You’: Arizona Cops ‘Stood and Watched’ Black Man Drown

I saw the video of him stepping into the lake and swimming. He looked to me like he was a decent swimmer. The cops were puzzled as to why he swam off.
Most chronically homeless people have mental issues.

It's not a crime to be mentally ill and the United States has one of the weakest mental healthcare systems in the modern world.

The drowned victim was the racist. Mom sued for 3 million dollars and collected less than $150,000 after attorney fees deducted. The drowned man swam for a distance so the cops believe he was a decent swimmer.

However, I have no doubt the settlement was done by the insurance firm and was their easy way out.
Why do you think cities don't have insurance and, if they do, why the insurance company wouldn't push for the cheapest way out?

I don't think that at all as, I said earlier. The insurance firm is boss when it comes to settling. It does not hurt the insurance firm since the firm collects from thousands of customers. Law firms charge staggering sums to defend the insurance firm so the heads of the settlement division calculated the least expensive solution. She essentially was told she had no case and gave her a token to end the suit. My sister was a good example. She was grossly fat. She was cleaning in her church when she alleges she fell on stairs due to shoes she purchased from Sears and Roebuck and the insurance for Sears gave her about $12,000 as I recall to shut her up.

Bickens mother gets $150,000?

That's insane

She’s not entitled to a dime of taxpayer money
Doesn't sound like this was accidental, but intentional on the drownee's part to escape. I don't see thinking officers are going to go into the water after him unless its via boat or such, because he will evade or try to fight them in water. Plus they have to get all their gear off.

I saw a video where a Methany tried to escape by jumping into a lake, they surrounded the sides of the pond, threw in a rope to her, but they couldn't get to her until she wised up and swam back.

So, in other words, he put himself in that situation after he was warned not to? The cops aren't lifeguards. Why should they jump in after him and put their own safety at risk? As usual, the media places that information halfway down the article while implying at the very beginning there is a racial motive when there is no evidence of such. One cannot hate the media enough for the division they create in this country.

Of course, she did, because why should her son be held accountable for his own actions that resulted in his death in the first place, right?

Darwin Award winner right there.

Someone panicking can easily drown a rescuer. Especially on drugs. I heard this lake had intakes there that could suck you under. That would kill the guy and the rescuer.

There is a 12-minute video and Bicknell was first sitting on a bench and talking to cops, then he goes over a small fence, ends down near the lake, cops say you can't swim in the lake, He shows them he can swim in the lake. They tell him they won't jump in and he commences to pull a George Floyd move saying he can't swim. They watched him swimming a good 150 feet.

My first thought was that a large man, especially a black man, would not participate in the rescue but would likely take the rescuer down with him. The cops did the right thing. That said they should have had a tossable floatation device in their vehicle.

I'm 86 and swam a lot when I was young. I know all the stokes but I would quickly run out of energy if I attempted to swim any distance. I'm thinking this is what happen to this man.

Usually aggravated by drug addiction

But libs prefer to let them walk around free till they murder someone
Duh. Do you agree drug addiction is a mental defect? A mental illness?

**** the Libs. I'm talking about you and your lies about me.

There are no intakes....Tempe Town Lake is for flood control, not power generation.
The claim was a distraction. Common among people with low character and a propensity for lying.

The sad fact is that evil people exist. People who follow Satan and not the words of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Evil people don't care about anyone but themselves. Mammon worshipers have chosen to follow Satan instead of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:24
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

Another example of acism from a USMB member. There is no excuse for this. The media does not create the division, people like you are the dividers.

I guess the fact that he is not animal patrol didn't matter in him saving a dog that was drowning.

It is pathetic an shameful that uch people exist in the year 2026. Now go ahead and tell me how racism is a thing of the past.

One less mouth for the taxpayers to feed. Maybe he will start a trend.

It cost taxpayers $150,000.

White racism in law enforcement costs taxpayers billions each year.

Keep it up.
