What I care more about is trump's court ignoring the black letter law of the National Voter Registration Act because it may advantage Repub's.

More importantly, I care about how the conservative majority came about.........WHICH IS THE TOPIC OF THE THREAD.

What about the law that says non-citizens can’t vote? Which is more important:

1) To make sure a citizen’s vote isn’t canceled out by a foreigner voting illegally
2) To meet the 90-day requirement

Supreme Court Allows Virginia Plan To Purge Supposed Non-Citizens To Go Forward

In a win for Republicans trying to perpetuate the myth that non-citizens will vote en masse for Democrats, the Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed a voter purge program in Virginia to move forward only days before the presidential election.

The justices blocked a lower court ruling that found the purge program was a direct violation of a National Voter Registration Act provision that, the court found, would prevent the purge so close to the election.

Wednesday’s brief Supreme Court order noted that all three liberal justices dissented.

Although Wednesday’s decision — which allows for the removal of close to 1,600 voters from the voter rolls — is not a ruling on the future of the program, it will likely disenfranchise eligible voters in the state. Experts and the plaintiffs in the suit have argued that the list of roughly 1,600 almost certainly contains people who are citizens, and Virginia officials have not been able to muster evidence to contradict that point.

More broadly, the decision gives breathing room to false Republican talking points that non-citizens are voting en masse on behalf of Democrats this cycle.

Actually, I find that kind of thinking troubling for a number of reasons. Primarily, for the way the conservatives obtained a majority of seats on the SC bench. McTreason's (who was only the Senate leader because of the disproportionate over representation of red states in the Senate) unprecedented treachery and trump winning the presidency with a minority of popular votes.

If Dem's were ruling while in the minority you can bet Repub's would have mobilized in ways Dem's do not. Repub's launched a plan to impose their views on abortion on the majority 30 years ago and look where we are now. Women are dying because they can't get reproductive healthcare.

Is it getting the all out support from Dem's it requires? No.

As surreal as it seems, a convicted felon who was found financially liable for sexual abuse (rape by federal statute) and tried to illegally install himself as prez may be on the cusp of being returned to the WH. If that doesn't motivate Dem's to do everything we can to change the system to reflect the will of the majority then the country will suffer the consequences for decades to come.

The President makes a nomination and if the Senate approves, the nominee becomes a Justice.
