GAZA, (PIC)-- Official Palestinian statistics stated that the rate of illiteracy among the Palestinians throughout their occupied lands dropped to 4.7 percent and that the Gaza Strip has the lowest rate.

Director of the Palestinian bureau of statistics in Gaza Ola Awad said on Friday on the occasion of the international literacy day which falls on the 8 September that in the Palestinian territories, there are about 117, 000 illiterate persons at age 15 and over.

Awad noted that the illiteracy rate in occupied Palestine is one of the lowest in the world.

news to you Tinny? not to me------illiteracy rate in Gaza is the lowest in the muslim world--steadily dropping since 1967-----in fact illiteracy in egypt is much higher infant survival is amongst the highest of all muslim states steadily improving since 1967

If the illerate rate was O% in Palestine, what would that prove? That they can all read? It doesn't matter if they can comprehend what they can read. After all, they can read the Hamas Charter and they still voted for the terrorist bastards.

infant mortality rate is more important in determining "quality of life" Gaza has among the best of any nation It means that they enjoy a high quality of life Any people can teach their children to read-------it requires no resources other than a few people who can read and write and the motivations of the people involved Somehow of all the muslims in the world ---the GAZANS GOT MOTIVATED
