Its not much of a reach to predict that the troops might be deployed to polling locations, considering the above 3 items.

Monitoring polling locations, if they are operating as prescribed by law, is nothing to be wary of.
Federal forces were deployed to DC, not a state, and if you feel there was no need for it you have your head in the sand.
Gerrymandering to inflate minority districts voting power beyond their level of population has been going on for years in blue states and in some is beyond appalling.

Federal forces were deployed to DC to give Trump photo opps.

There is NO National Guard presence beyond the Mall. (where I saw exactly 3 Guardsmen).

He did it because DC is the only jurisdiction that doesn’t require a governor’s consent. This is not a constitutional question.

Monitoring polling stations has been a right wing thug thing for several cycles. It’s an attempt to intimidate. It has no other useful purpose.

TheVoting Rights Act required congressional districts to reflect the distribution of races throughout the states. That’s what you call gerrymandering.

The GOP enacted their Project Redmap to deliver congressional and electoral victories. Gerrymandering was the primary weapon. Now, it’s right out in the open.
