Don't Taz, interesting that you have already convicted the guy before there is even a trial...I would note that it says nothing about this guy being under the influence..he hasn't been charged as such..nor has he been charged with vehicular homocide..he was charged simply with leaving the scene of an accident..and it was already stated that Pollack was standing over the median IN THE ROADWAY...so interesting how you leave those facts out. so while the OP wants you to believe that this man was mowed down it seems there is more to the story and likely the guy who hit him got scared and ran because he hit someone standing in the roadway. Thing is, the man is only charged with leaving the scene which tells me 1 he wasn't drinking when he drove and 2 that it was an accident and that he likely wasn't at fault.

The argument that an illegal immigrant is somehow more culpable for this accident because he was an illegal immigrant makes no sense. And you KNOW it makes no sense.

This whole charade is ginned up to:

A) create fear of the illegal immigrant

B) reenforce that paranoia especially among those with deep prejudices and hatreds

C) further demonize an entire group of people whose only crime is their lack of visas
