On top of that, NATO is really for Europe's defense, not hours and even if everyone put in 2% like they're supposed to, our 2% is much larger than everyone else's for defending them, not us.

The North American Treaty Organization was set up as an alliance between Western Europe and the United States to provide a bulwark against Russian aggression.

It Is the legacy of Churchill and Roosevelt, and has been a success for 75 years.

The fact that he did it in public, without any warning. And he continued to do it with no hint of diplomacy or responsible governance was unnerving to leaders around the world.
