If voters don’t feel relief, the economy isn’t fixed

It's step 1, and an easy step at that. Unlike "bad ideas" people like Dems the right knows you need application people to get things ******* done. With the border closed, all deportations are now net removals, not the "we count turn-aways at the border as deportations" number games.

So your counter-proposal is open border free for all and make them all citizens?

even the criminals?
You can deport immigrants if it makes you happy, but you’re convincing yourself that it’s gonna to lead to economic prosperity.

I don’t see it. Less labor in the market leads to less output.

It reminds me of when the people convinced themselves that Brexit was going to be great for the British economy but it hasn’t.

Deport illegals, and its step 1, and an easy step 1, using laws already in place that Biden's admin ignored.

No, it leads to the market adjusting to the situation.

Brexit was a reaction to Euroassholes trying to run things at the micro-level.

Step 1: deport illegals.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: profit.

Great plan.

As opposed to just letting them keep coming and using up our government benefits?

We are already seeing a year long drop in crime, and I'm sure you will find some excuse to why this wasn't in part caused by getting rid of actual criminals.

Sure, maybe it helped, but the pattern of crime doesn’t follow the pattern of immigration much. Crime shot up in 2020 when there was no immigration. It started coming down at the end of the Biden administration when there was a lot of immigration. They just don’t line up very well.

This is a thread about the economy, not about crime or government spending. The country is much bigger than illegal immigration but it’s all you can think about.

The vast majority of Americans won’t see any actual financial benefit from this policy.

Time to fire up the press and print some money!

Lowering crime helps the economy.

Lowering crime helps the economy.
I guess, but it’s hardly going to have any dramatic impact.

People’s perception of the economy is overwhelmed by their day to day experiences and (I think) broader anxieties about the future.

LOL, of course you have to lowball it.

No, right now it's not their day to day experience, it's Democratic media operatives telling them things are horrible.

That's all you have, just screaming and yelling that the sky is falling.

OK, neither party fixes anything, but I prefer the Republican policies.

But Trump did fix: the wall, the border, ICE, ED, the DOJ, Treasury, the Dept of War, USAID, State, NATO, the budget, unfair trade,

...and will fix, the Fed, Ukraine, Venezuela, 400,000 deaths by saving 200,000 US lives due to drug overdoses
That is where WE have a problem. There are somethings Republican lead with that we agree with,
even if they take many of their views to the extremes.
And the Democrat's have made to Many mistakes & extremes also.
We have BAD government.
Few work for the majority. Self serving, greed & money Rule.
Thinking is not popular,
Propaganda followers, & my way ONLY, have replaced LOOKING
FOR SOLUTIONS that serve Country over party.

In 2024 it was Trump and the right wing media telling people things are horrible, and nothing has really changed.

Trump made a lot of promises about the economy and none of them have been fulfilled.

But maybe printing more money will help. That’s your actual plan.

All the Left has to do is continue to destroy the US from within with spending like a drunken sailor

But what about the facts?

Are debt exploding Republicans like Bush and Trump also "left"?

Home prices skyrocket because the economy is paying high prices. Means the economy is fine.
Actually it means that corporations and speculators are buying up properties and driving out struggling workers

They were, and they were going to get worse if leftists policies were allowed to continue.

He's less than a year in, and he has delivered on several of his promises.

Inflation has slowed considerably, showing people think the money supply is tightening, not loosening.

Are you advocating for deflation now?

What exact was so terrible in 2024 that isn’t almost exactly the same now?

Inflation in 2025 is almost exactly what it was in 2024.

The money supply isn’t tightening, in fact they’re firing up the presses again with quantitative easing because the labor market is so weak. Didn’t you know that?

Except, in large part, they don't. They come here to work. To make a better life for themselves. They pay taxes. Crime has been steadily dropping for years now. For the most part, they don't commit crimes. The whole, "get rid of the worst of the worst" is just a smokescreen for "get rid of them all".

Unfortunately, that policy has already put a dent in the house building market and the hospitality industry. Two areas where undocumented workers do the jobs that native white people won't touch.

Not a good way to build a wealthy economy.

Housing prices skyrocket because demand outpaces supply and from the individual nuances that make up markets around the country.

You are really going with "things are the same"?

LOL

Inflation is lower, other indicators are higher.

According to this, blame the fed, because they don't want to lower rates anymore.

Inflation is almost exactly the same. Unemployment is higher. GDP growth is almost exactly the same. Wage growth rate is a little down. Private employment growth is lower. Consumer spending growth in 2024 was better.

Things really aren’t that different. Polling is consistent.
