If voters don’t feel relief, the economy isn’t fixed

Because reality isn't a movie and things take time to not only be registered by people but to actually filter down from the macro-economic level to the micro-economic level?
And what does that mean exactly? Put it into concrete terms.

Q3 GDP went up a lot. Did that mean more job creation? No. Higher wages? Not really.

We are dealing with complex indicator values, which aren't exactly "concrete"

Job "creation" was retarded mostly by cutting of federal jobs, which continues. Higher wages will come from removing illegals from the job market and restricting further H1-B issuances.

Now if we can start getting rid of all this fraud we are finding, the money government DOES have to spend might just be spent properly.

Sounds like a lot of hand waving. You’re just saying shit to feel better.

Wages aren’t going to go up if the labor market is weak, and it is very weak. Those job cuts for federal employees are very real and those people flooding into the labor market will suppress wages. Federal employees and illegal aliens aren’t exactly competing for the same jobs.

The growth in the economy is coming largely from investment in AI infrastructure and healthcare. The first doesn’t create jobs (it may actually destroy them) and the second is bittersweet since higher healthcare spending is good for the healthcare job market but bad for the people who have to pay for it.

Wages will go up when you remove millions working for less than the rest of us would for a given task.

The jobs we want to create won't be filled by paper pushing former federal DEI drones.

Wages might go up, or businesses might just close down because they’re not capable of making profit when their labor costs go up.

And this is for a pretty narrow section of the labor market. Illegal immigrants are generally unskilled manual labor. It’s not exactly a big component of the American middle class.

So, keep the illegals and keep underpaying them?

H1B immigrants aren't low skilled, and that system has been abused to bring in mid-level people as opposed to its intended purpose, high level impossible to find in the US talent.

An economy is almost always going to be mixed. So putting blame or credit on One Guy is a dumb idea. Cherry-pick the numbers all you want.

Trump can brag about his numbers (again), but we know that he's spending big (again), now the Fed is stepping in to help with QE (again), and the rich are getting richer quickly (again).

And we also know that wealth disparities are increasing, younger Americans are finding it tougher and tougher (First-Time Home Buyer Share Falls to Historic Low of 21%, Median Age Rises to 40), and no one in DC is providing smart solutions. And we still don't know the full effect of the inflated tariffs, because the layoffs are still happening.

But since everything is hyper-politicized now, there's no reason to think anything will change any time soon. That's our own fault.
What have the Democrats offered except even worse processes?

Hey, do whatever makes you feel good. I’m just adding a dose of reality to your magical thinking.

Kicking out illegal immigrants isn’t going to magically make us richer. In fact, it might make a lot of people poorer.

As for H1-B visas, this might be another scapegoat. I thought of this story from the NY Times.

Michal Boone decided his inability to get a job in tech is because of H1-Bs. Maybe it has more to do with the fact that he dropped out of University of Missouri after a year.

It's going to cut government spending, lower demands for housing, and open up the job markets.

It’s good that it’ll cut spending because it’ll also cut the tax base. Lower demands for housing? Not so sure. Illegal immigrants have families and it’s not like every deportation opens up a housing unit. Open up the job market? Not for middle class Americans trying to raise a family.

It hasn’t done shit so far and they’ve supposedly deported like a million people.

You’re just engaging in magical thinking.

How will your life be any better without illegal immigrants? Mine won’t. I have a house. I have a job. All that’ll happen to me is that it’ll be more expensive to have work done on my house and some restaurants I like will close.

Less government spending, less crime, more housing, and as we are seeing, less fraud.

You can't ***** about rising labor costs at the same time bitching people don't make enough money, idiot.

2024 was stable. 2025 was really chaotic with the tariff craziness.

No it wasn't. You all said it was chaotic. You all said it would cause massive inflation, market declines and bad, bad - BAD!!

It didn't.

You’re pretending like deporting illegal immigrats is a panacea. You want them gone regardless of the economic effects so I don’t know why you even care.

Will it help wages? Maybe a lot for a few people. Will it make things more expensive? Maybe a little for a lot of people.

It’s not going to have a serious effect on the overall mood of the population when it comes to the economy.

Trump backed off the really stupid tariffs and businesses found a way around most of the rest.

The last 6 months have been much more stable but the first 6 months were madness.

And that’s not even addressing the idea that these tariffs have a good chance at being found to be illegal by SCOTUS.

It's step 1, and an easy step at that. Unlike "bad ideas" people like Dems the right knows you need application people to get things ******* done. With the border closed, all deportations are now net removals, not the "we count turn-aways at the border as deportations" number games.

So your counter-proposal is open border free for all and make them all citizens?

even the criminals?
