If Trump loses, expect a Republican civil war

Conservatives can read the tea leaves and are starting to consider what the Republican Party will look like after a Trump loss. Conservative writer and Bush campaign creative team director is predicting a Republican Civil War if Trump loses.

Questions:
1. Does Trump go quietly if he loses?

2. Who can pull the Republican Party back together after it has been defined as a party of personality?

If Trump loses, expect a Republican civil war

To have one family in complete control of a major national political party is an aberration in our country. Daughter-in-law Lara Trump, installed as co-chair of the Republican National Committee in March, naively spoke the truth in February when she said of its fundraising, “Every single penny will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC — that is electing Donald J. Trump as president of the United States…”

That aside, a Trump loss inevitably means an internal civil war within the Republican Party. I believe a “war” is inevitable between the all-powerful Trump forces and those who want to move on from the Trump era and win the White House in 2028 without any Trump family members on the ticket.

Like all civil wars, this one could be brutal, because the GOP opposition forces see in Trumpism a political dead-end with a shrinking voter base. Today, identifying as a Republican is not about conservative governing principles but automatic loyalty to Trump, with his MAGA troops in control of the party machinery from top to bottom.

So who would it be? Some names are familiar and obvious: Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who each look in the mirror and see a future president. Add a new name with popular Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R), who has had a contentious history with Trump — haven’t they all, though? That experience will embolden these leaders to forge a new path for the party, maybe led by one of them, or else a new leader will emerge.
Thats right citygoat, were coming after u, oooooooo, ahhhhhhh?

You can’t read. The article says Civil War WITHIN the GOP for control… not a national civil war. Low reading skills leads to Trump support. You can cure the MAGA stain by actually reading.

The Republican Party should go the way of the Whigs.

The struggle as always is between repubs with conservative principals and washington swamp rat RINOs who just want cushy jobs in congress

Youu got me, I don't read your bs. If a leftist posts it, the message is always subjective bs aimed at snowflakes as replacements for bedtime stories

There has already been a civil war since 2016.

The neocons and globalists versus MAGA.

MAGA has already won and is going to stay. The neocons have all fled to the Democrat Party because the Democrat Party was always pro-war anyway, they just pretended to be anti-war when Bush was President.

So it's my fault you didnt read it? That's pretty on brand for the right.

If Harris loses, I wonder if we wont get another woman candidate for a while, but you will see a long list of people jockeying for the top. Jefferies will be the congressional leader. The platform remains virtually the same, coalitions remain in place.
**** you and your Hamas nonsense by the way you racist piece of shit
Jeffries will be minority leader in the House, Schumer will be minority leader in the Senate.
Here's hoping that Republicans cut spending and return to some sort of fiscal sanity.

Hamas nonsense? Supporting Palestinians is supporting Hamas dumbass.

Since when were the Old Weird Guy or Republicans, for that matter, fiscally responsible?

The problem for the Republicans at this point is not their (Trump) agenda. It's their standard-bearer.

You put somebody like Nikki Haley or Ted Cruz on the pedestal and re-brand the Trump agenda and you win.

But.. it is the fate of men, that they do not listen to reason, once they've chosen a path, or a candidate, despite warnings...

So the Republicans are going to have to get their a$$e$ kicked good-and-proper before Reality finally sinks-in...

Afterwards, Trump's family will be purged from the RNC and he will be quietly shunted off to the side and then ignored...

Once the dust settles, the Pubs will begin work on rebranding themselves and will start easing-out the worst MAGAtts...

After a cycle or two, those modern-day Know-Nothings will be largely and merely a bad memory to be quickly forgotten...
1. Agreed that Trump is less popular than the Republican policies.

2. Nikki Haley would have beaten Biden by 17-points when Trump barely won in polls. That was probably more Biden's age than populist policies.

3. There won't be an "ass-kicking" by Kamala. She is not very popular, and voters say that the US is on the "wrong-track". 2024 will be very close one way or another.

4. After Trump wins or loses the GOP will return to less controversial candidates. You think Jeb Bush has a shot in 2028? <g>

5. There will be no "rebranding" conservatism is not popular, populism is here to stay.

6. Know nothings like Kamala flunking her 1st Bar Exam, and not doing press conferences?
