If obama issues an executive amnesty should the states refuse to comply?

The very first words of the constitution after the preamble are "all legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress of the united states." That means only congress can write a law; not the supreme court and certainly not the president.

If the president issues an executive amnesty, he will call it an executive order but it's really a law and states need to say that it is thereby unconstitutional. According to the tenth amendment of the federal constitution, the states have authority to nullify unconstitutional federal laws.

Hasn't 'Nullification' been tried before, to no good result?

The states have the constitution on their side when it comes to nullifying federal laws. But they don't do it. Lots of talk about states nullifying obamacare a few years back. But then the cowards backed down.

Absolutely. Speeders is so dumb it's hilarious. I agree all his posts should be censored until he gets his head on straight.

Whatever happened to that Constitutional Convention all you nutters were going on about a year or two ago?

It might yet happen though i don't think amending the constitution will do any good. The federal govt simply ignores the constitution. That's why states need to start nullifying federal laws.
