If lockdowns & masks work, why are the vast majority of Covid deaths in leftist states?

When a flu causes so many hospitalizations that the IC's are overflowing, then I would say yes.
The numbers the the same. The only reason the ICUs were packed was fucking bullshit lies. Why wasnt the naval ship that was sent to New York used at all, yet ew York claimedthey were overwhelmed?
You're a lunatic. Flu has 80,000 annual deaths, the coronavirus hit 500,000. Each death represents at least one ICU bed used to try to save them.
There are no influenza deaths anymore.
if one dies in a car accident and tested positive, they died of covid!!! can't make it up. the demofks defending stupid.

Yes, it was. Trump allowed it to accept China Flu patients on April 7, one day after Benito asked him to.

Why didn’t Benito use it for that?
March 29
Cuomo extends all NYS on PAUSE and non-essential work from home mandates for another two weeks. He also extends the duration of school closures and all other previously mandated business operations closures until April 15.

April 1
New York City playgrounds close to address lack of compliance to social distancing mandates.

April 6
Cuomo extends NY on PAUSE closures by two weeks and orders schools and nonessential businesses closed through April 29.

Cuomo already closed down the state, and new cases were already dropping by the time the ship was ready for coronavirus patients.

Hardly any. The masking, social distancing and hand washing used to prevent spread of the coronavirus, are even more effective against the far less contagious seasonal flu, which is also far less deadly. Those two factors combined made the seasonal flu practically disappear from the radar.

Same as somebody applying for a home equity loan because they have a big bill due in a month. And when they didn't hear from the bank, they started cashing in their assets, and selling everything they could to raise enough money to pay off the bill.

And after the bill was paid. The bank calls and says their loan was approved.

Too late. They no longer needed the money any more, so they didn't use it.

Based on these numbers as typical. Automobile fatalies are down 30% from the average, Which puts nationwide fatalities down from 35,000 to about 25,000

Even if every one was attributed to coronavirus (which isn't even close), that would hardly put a dent in the 500,000 cases.

Your clutching at straws is approaching the stupid level.

Not all flu deaths. They were all probable, so probably isn’t it is. And daily death rates haven’t increased. There’s that

Still not using data for daily death counts post the actual numbers

  • More than 90 people die in car accidents everyday.
That's 33,000 from undated data. (pre coronavirus lockdowns)

a 30% drop in deaths due to reduced driving, brings it down to around 20,000

Compare to the 500,000 coronavirus deaths, and it's what engineers call "below the noise"

A third of the people weren’t wearing masks
That's YOUR biased estimate. Not in any way fact.

SOME weren't wearing masks...and SOME weren't distancing.

Most did both and there was no large spread from those events
We can debate "some" vs. "many". Further if you look at the videos of the event, it's easy to see my estimate of a third not wearing masks. Same video shows many not socially distancing - particularly when they were trying to get past barracades. Regardless, the core of my argument was that the same voices - Democrats, Media- calling on people to wear masks and socially distant were silent for the protests. That is a bold claim to make on your part that there was no large spread. Factually, it can only be speculated either way.

I remember someone commenting on a photo posted of a BLM protester on top of a burning police car. They pointed it out as an example of the violence. And it was pointed out, he was wearing a mask.

Most of the BLM protesters wore masks.

Bcause it keeps track of daily deaths worldwide, by country, and by state.

So it keeps track of the daily deaths in the US you asked for.

"Overall, an estimated 299,028 excess deaths occurred from late January through October 3, 2020, with 198,081 (66%) excess deaths attributed to COVID-19," the agency reported.
