If I could only make one change to our government, I'd eliminate the Income tax.

This would serve the following purposes:

  • The States would have to fund the federal government in proportion to their electoral college votes and therefore there would be a real check on federal spending
  • Individuals would gain back most of their basic freedoms and not be directly subject to the all-seeing eye of the federal government
  • Congressmen would have to find something besides economic engineering to occupy their time. Ideally Congress should be unpaid, part time work as well.

I'd eliminate Universal Suffrage. The Founders were right, democracy is a disaster that destroys itself.

Take away income tax and the feds will directly tax production, just like they did before income taxes...
