Zone1 If God were real, you wouldn’t need a book

No, it's not. You aren't at peace.
Except that yes, I am. No mystical father figure needed.

You religious types need someone to tell you "it's gonna be ok" just to deal with daily life.

We normal folks do not.

Not enough. You need to pray at the stations of the cross and give most of your money to the Church if you want to go to heaven. 😇 😇 😇
.

I pray the Stations once a week and give what I think is appropriate to give in time, talent and treasure.

I don't believe you are. I believe you are at war with most of the world. I'm guessing you are divorced.

Wednesdays?

You don't get to decide what is appropriate. If you want to go to heaven you need to give what the priest says is appropriate.
.

You don't get to tell me what's appropriate. You're not God or my Priest.

And it's every Saturday.

Who said that's why she does it? Go back to Westboro Baptist church where you belong.

WHAT? I get to tell you to make your donation every Sunday. And none of this cheapskate 20%.

Ok, show me some proof.
And there is the inevitable brick wall. Here's the thing, no two people are going to accept the same proof. Case in point, it is in living memory that the Holocaust occurred. It is one of the most well documented, most witnessed atrocities in human history, yet there are millions who would gladly sit down with you today and tell you all about how it didn't happen. If someone is determined to not believe something, no amount of proof is going to change their mind.

Most self-proclaimed atheists (they're really agnostics because they can't prove God does not exist; they just believe that He doesn't. It's a faith thing). Interesting that the agnostic demands proof of God's existence but cannot produce proof of his own disbelief.

Anyway, two things. I ran into a guy who said he would refuse to believe God exists if He showed up in front of him, had a conversation with him and showed him He existed. Said he wouldn't believe his own senses and would only believe if a crowd all told him the same thing. Sounds a lot like the early disciples who had the eyewitness testimony of hundreds who all saw Jesus after He resurrected Himself. The second thing is, what would you do if you were shown proof you professed to believe? Would your life change in any way or would you just go on living like you are now? If you would not change anything, why show you proof?

What would constitute proof you would accept?

If someone is determined to not believe something, no amount of proof is going to change their mind.

that is not the atheists any more than desert dwellers where there is no proof for any of their religions does not prevent them from believing what has been madeup for them in their bibles - for that very purpose and used for their own self serving enrichment.

and what is not written for them the true events of the 1st century they gladly accept preferring the opposite outcome than what those events were established for the repudiation of laws and commandments used to persecute and victimize the innocent being the very people who ascribe to such practices and refer to their beliefs as religion.

Correct. And if someone is determined to believe something, no amount of lack of proof is going to change their mind.

You are really confused. You don't understand what Agnosticms is.
Interesting that the agnostic demands proof of God's existence
Yes, if he is to become a Theist.
but cannot produce proof of his own disbelief.
What "belief" are you talking about? You are very confused.
What would constitute proof you would accept?
Start with producing a little bit of proof and we'll see how far it will take us. Can you do that? :45:

Does it not even register how bad this makes you look that this is what you get your kicks from? Are you seriously that clueless?
.

I was just thinking this as I was praying one of my Rosaries. I get the privilege of praying for our friends many times a day. All they get is the thrill of hating someone.

is one honest who thinks while they prey -

or just someone who takes time to pray than perform the task of bettering their lives themselves than relying on the unknown and being subservient to their own imagination.

Maybe you're not praying enough. Or maybe you are praying to the wrong god. You've got three to choose from. You could try praying to St. Christofer but he's been excommunicated. :(

LOL!!!

No.

I don't need proof god doesn't exist.. That's self evident.

Let's look at that holocaust, shall we? Why would "god" allow his/her chosen people to be slaughtered like animals?

Don't say "god's plan", no god would allow most of it's follower to be killed to not purpose.

It wasn't stopped, ergo no god.

That's your limited opinion talking. You can't conceive of a being greater than yourself so you place your own limits on Him so you can claim He doesn't exist because He doesn't fit into your limited understanding.

It's your opinion that there was no purpose. Here's one potential purpose, the nation of Israel was established as foretold by prophesy. Without the Holocaust, it would not have happened.
It wasn't stopped, ergo no god.
That's your human "logic" speaking.

Consider, a one-year-old gets angry when Daddy leaves every morning and won't play with him. He has no concept that Daddy has work to do. He has no concept that Daddy will come back home every evening and play with him. He just gets mad when Daddy leaves. That's where you are. You simply can't comprehend beings higher than yourself, so you claim they don't exist. The reality is, any being great enough to have created you is self-evidently more complex than you can imagine.

Dude, you're obsessed with desert dwellers. You need a new schtick.
