Nuthin' but the truth
If every American individual and corporation paid a similar percentage and every US citizen thereby became eligible for free health care and higher education, would you approve? Now, as a taxpaying American, I pay on the average in all taxes effectively around 40% of my earned income to the government. If the Government wants to return a small portion of that money to me, I welcome it. I love the idea of being able to keep more of my money...
No,

No, and I'll tell you the reasons why.
1. We are a compassionate country. We believe that those that are down on their luck, or can't work do to circumstances beyond their control should have a helping hand for the betterment of society.
That is a far stretch from those who abuse the system, and try to make living off of that a carreer....
2. I think taxes are too high. Accross the board...I would be much happier if there was a flat tax of say 10% accross all levels of income from $0 up....That's fair, and equal.
This pipe dream of those that have been successful in life should somehow be punished for achieving that success is pure BS.
Look, I render onto Ceaser what is Ceaser's....BUT, I don't think Ceaser needs so much of what I work for.
