This is one of the reasons democracy sucks. People are too stupid to learn from experience. All that ever happens when government subsidizes something is the market adjusts up to absorb it and we're left in the same position as before, only with a bigger bureaucracy.

The Dept of Ed now sets aside something like $15 billion per year to "assist students", but students are paying more than ever and getting less than ever and graduating owing more than ever.

As the jobs that require no skills become increasingly automated out of existence what will we do with people with no skills. In other words, what are most of the posters on this thread going to do? We need to consider some way to address this other than throwing people out in the street.
