Idea: Anyone want to enter a USMB chess tournament?

Have any of you participated in a USCF tourney? Or anything legit like that?
I did once. My first opponent was 2K on chess.com. He was also in my chess club. He was around 75. I played well but he beat me.
Fun times.

I do all the time

Just know the knives tend to come out when you play in those mosh pits.

I can't tell you how many notifications I have gotten saying your opponent cheated.

LOL.

How do they cheat? They are sitting right across from you lol
EDIT: I bet it is their move cards

On-line cheating is pervasive at the higher levels..usually by using a computer chess program to respond to your unseen opponents moves~

Then there is the famous case of the vibrating anal beads

Im referring to in person tournaments.

I think that is unproven. At any rate, the accused GM chess player denies it.

Also, how would it work? Morse code Perhaps?

It’s not proven of course.

Several prominent members of the chess community believe that something suspicious happened. That was the theory that the internet came up with, and it went viral from there.

Then Neimann proceeds to get consistently smashed by the top tier players, which feeds that suspicion.

Votto

Thanks for the game. I found my main mistake on move 12. I could have kept the game even.

For all chess players... chess.com is a widespread huge app. I've used it time-to-time throughout my life (it's been a year or 2). Once you setup an account, you can have invitation 1 vs. 1 matchups. If we collaborate on here, we could have occasional tournaments, as the games would be played on the app and results would be reported here.

If nobody's in, no worries. If we get 4, 8, 12 players.. we could make a bracket... do a round robin, or make some sort of league. I can guarantee I wouldn't be the ace of the group, even though I love chess.
I have a question that perhaps some experts can help with.

I would love an electronic chess board where the board doesn't need to contain a processor and software to play, but can simply interface over WIFI and use some online chess engine.

I'd like to play against a computer but why restrict oneself to a built in, hard to change game engine when there are online engines (that we can play using a PC or tablet).

Do these exist?

check out this link. ChessUp 2: Play Chess.com Games Directly On A Board

That said, I think the board does have to have a processor to be able to link up with online chess.

Thanks I'll look at that, I did see this as well

But it's not quite clear to me how too actually work with these boards.
