Idaho ISP provider bans Facebook and Twitter. Omegalul

"We don't condone what these companies are doing": North Idaho wireless internet provider to block Facebook & Twitter for customers, if requested | News | khq.com

Other Red State ISP's are about to follow suit.

A North Idaho wireless internet provider says they will be making it easier for their customers to block Facebook and Twitter, after they said they've received "non-stop calls" from their customers asking them to do so.

KHQ spoke with YourT1Wifi owner Bret Fink who said the decision to do this was based only on logistics, not political ideology. Fink says many of his customers aren't tech savvy and he is simply trying to do his best to help as many customers as possible in as easy a way as possible. Fink says following Facebook and Twitter's decision to ban President Donald Trump from the sites, he heard from many customers saying the sites propagate misinformation and are wrongly censoring the President. He says many of his customers are concerned that the sites could negatively impact their children and their community. So he's taken steps to block them, which will go into effect Wednesday, January 13th.
Should a baker, who does not believe in gay marriage for religous reasons, have to bake a cake for a same sex wedding?
Yes. But he shouldn't have to put any of his own artwork on it. That is what would have happened by the way if they pushed the issue, I believe.

Twitter is a private company. They can kick off who they want. The Idaho ISP is a private company. They can kick off who they want. Let the consumers decide. If you are mad at Twitter, do not use them.
I thought your group is for less government. Now you want the governement to force a private company to take customers they do not want. Like the baker.
*shrugs* As long as they lose their status as a platform I'm absolutely happy with that.

"if requested"

what does that even mean...

you dont need to request an isp to block anything...

you can simply not go in facebook or twitter...

stupidest thing ever...

You are not following.
For example, is a company uses a ISP to provide internet services for all their buildings, then the company to block Twitter and Facebook through out the whole company.
This is happening in schools as well.
The problem is that this is an attempt to punish without a court trial, which is inherently illegal.
Twitter and Facebook crossed the line and are trying to act with the force of law, which can not be allowed, especially on the Internet, which has specific FCC regulations against that.

Everyone should do the same.

Delete the communist influence from your life if you haven't yet, it will be better for it.

China often is criticized for censorship - fact remains that the Chinese companies allow far more free speech than fakebook.

I am a 100% computer illiterate, so I do not understand the technical aspects described in the OP.

But thanks for making my day if it means that Twitter & Facebook are getting some of their just deserts. (Not "desserts")

you are the one who is not following...
you dont have to call the isp to block facebook in your network...
just block it in your network if you want it blocked...
as simple as that...

only clueless people would think this is anything logical or meaningful...

Good. Twitter, Facebook and the others are outing conservative talk all the time. They want only liberal speak on their sites. Trump has 75 million supporters and he's going to set up his own media site and a new political party. I'm going to sit back and see what happens. Should be interesting as hell.
