Good Friday is generally the opening day of the season for many public swimming facilities in Germany, including the municipal beach at Wannsee lake in Berlin pictured here. This Easter, however, the weather is posing a bit of a problem. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the country is experiencing one of the six coldest Marches on record since DWD began recording temperatures in 1881. The average temperature for March this year has been 0.2 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), 4.1 degrees lower than averages recorded each year between 1981 and 2010. On Friday afternoon, Berlin measured a chilly 2 degrees Celsius, with snowfall. Jack Frost's extended visit this year, however, doesn't appear to be hindering this Berlin local from taking a quick splash in the frigid waters.
