My daughter went to college in East Texas. There are plenty of blue-haired whackoes there, but she fell in with a Christian student group instead. An unearned stroke of luck for us really. We taught our kids about God and Jesus, but, after a few years, we had been remiss in taking them to church.

She had fun, did not miss out on drinking and dating (moderately), but avoided the hard drugs and the hard socialism. She met a hardworking young man who put himself through college driving a forklift and then was hired into management by the same company when he finished college.

I'm proud of mine...her mom was a welfare queen.

She told me when she was 16 she was quiting school. I said FINE what is your plan ? She said what do you mean. I told her you can't quit school and sit around the rest of your life working at the W-word. (a noble job-but not a career)

Like me she just didn't fit in public school. So she took coures for her GED. Got that than pre-community colleges. Got a dregree from there and than started taking course at 2 small Catholic college than shared credits ...got a degree from there and is now working on her second degree. I think that will be from the Univ of Penn.

She is working at a mental healthclininc and is going to become a therpist for people with nutty parents / that are homeless.

Most of all she is sober to ! Thanks for lettig me share !
