Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide says his departure from his country was a ``kidnapping'' as heavily armed ``white men'' surrounded the National Palace, according to a statement released on Saturday.

Can he really be that stupid? Why would he say this?

Maxine Waters, for one, believes him. Or, more likely, is just glomming on to this accusation in order to play a bit of racial politics.

One of his bodyguards has come forward and said that he did leave of his own volition. Once a cowardly tyrant, always a coward.
