Roosevelt Island was deliberately chosen to limit crowd size. It's the old quarantine island. Limited vehicle access, so most people would have taken the subway. You can't just casually stroll over there.

The overflow areas were empty as the expected crowd did not appear. A surprise is that the crowd was white and middle aged. Young people are just not into grandma as president. Black people even less and latinos less than that. Hillary does have the aging hippie vote locked in.

This is going to be a very interesting election as the younger, diverse, crowd wrests the baton from aging fingers.
