When police officers murdered Breonna Taylor in her home the citizens of Kentucky had to pay her family the largest settlement ever received by a citizen of that state despite most of them never having heard of her before let alone being responsible for firing hundreds of rounds of ammo into her home.

Problem is, you cannot present a sound argument as to how -anyone- is "owed" anything for slavery -- and you cannot present a sound argument how those who had nothing to do with slavery are responsible to pay those who are owed.
Thus, you cannot demonstrate how is this an example of government working for "us".
