BtW: talk about kids being taught to be ashamed or segregated. I went to school in the 50s and 60s. We were picked off by gender. Girls got forced into courses of cooking and sewing. Boys got forced into woodshop and tools. I was forced into making an apron with rick-rack and my mother finally finished off this dress that I was supposed to make. I had to sit in the back of the room reading Fahrenheit 451 while some idiot lectured about the four basic food groups and desired me to learn to make asparagus sandwiches to serve my mother at tea.
