Biden can obviously beat Trump AGAIN. Quite honestly I think most people agree with that assessment regardless of whether or not they will admit it.
DeSantis is more complicated of course. Biden certainly has his share of polling vulnerabilities right now. However, I think what will be the deciding factor on this will be abortion. DeSantis’ stance is far right as you’d expect and the ongoing abortion legislation being passed state by state is only gaining momentum. Democrats did so well in 2022 in large part because of the female turnout opposing abortion. The issue isn’t going away either. It’s only going to galvanize more pro-choice voters as restrictions get past. The only thing that would save the GOP as far as this goes is by compromising their stance on the issue going forward. That is of course cowardly but the GOP want to win no matter what.
No amount of republican gerrymandering (cheating) will stop this issue’s influence in the fight for congress as well.
