As we speak arguments are before the Supreme Court that the 14th Amendment was only created to apply to children of slaves, not anyone else.

However, I think the court is going to ignore reality and rule to allow illegals to continue remaining legally in the US.....because they think it would be too difficult to enforce the law correctly.

On a side note, they're really arguing over district judges trying to block the Trump Adm from removing illegals.

This is a very important issue.....and how the judges rule will show us exactly what's going on inside the court.

Is the fix in, or are they going to do their duty to defend the constitution?

At the beginning of the Constitution it reads "We the People of the United States of America". I guess the founding fathers didnt think that people as stupid as you would not think every start of every amendment shouldnt need that preamble.

But because of the Democrats who had slaves before the civil war, they fought to keep slaves during the war, and then formed the KKK to keep ex slaves in terror, the 14th amendment had to provide protections against the Democrats because they didnt want free black people. Nothing has changed with the Democrat party.

I think that the 14th Amendment should be repealed.

No person born in the USA of an illegal should be granted citizenship, but that requires an Amendment process.

I am not now, and never will be, okay with a President just changing a Constitutional Amendment with an EO/EA.

It doesn't need to be repealed. But we may have to just to eliminate the misuse of it.

Well, an Amendment to the Constitution is part of the Constitution.

I get it that the left are hypocrites with regards to following and enforcing the Amendments. Hell, they don't even pay lip service to several of them in the Bill of rights, particularly the 8th and 10th.

That doesn't mean I want future Presidents just waving a pen and doing away with or altering them to fit the cause of the day.

I think that birthright citizenship should be granted only to a child born to at least ONE parent who is a citizen, or if the parent is a legalized and/or naturalized citizen.

If neither parent is a citizen, then kick the kid out, too.

I had high hopes for Barrett, but she's disappointed us several times so far.

My Dad's relatives have been here since the 1600s.
My Mom's came on a boat in the 1920s from Denmark.
Funny thing is....her side of the family is where most of the Native-American blood is in my family.

My uncle Frank was Blackfoot.

I am 100% certain that original intent was never for somebody to be able to sneak into the United States and give birth so that compassionate Americans would allow her and all her kin to live here forever because her baby is here.

They were specific that those visiting, diplomats, those authorized to do business in the United States had no such rights for their children. So why should those invading our country be give such rights?

The legal interpretation could very well be that 'under the jurisdiction of' the United States mean citizens and permanent residents and that citizens of other countries would be 'under the jurisdiction' of whatever government in the country where they are citizens.
