When a Government limit a person right to go to Church but then does not limit a person right to riot during a Pandemic then we as a society have failed...

Abbott also left it to the County and Local Governments to reopen at their own pace.

I live in Austin County which is not far from Harris County and we lifted the mask requirement even though some establishments still require it but Harris County is still under red alert which mean mask requirement is still enforced and other restrictions are still in place.

The reality is each State has it own right to lockdown if needed and the OP trying to ask why we are not like Taiwan is beyond ridiculous because as shown we are a Republic and as you stated and I have also shown each State has it own responsibility to protect it citizens...
