Of course it is, particularly among the unskilled, uneducated who have little value. They would prefer to live off of other people’s hard if given the option. That’s why we should not provide that alternative.

A young woman I know quit her part-time job once Biden expanded the child support payments because she no longer had to earn money for herself.

One of the reasons why people won't work is because they get free money. Why work if you don't have to? There are expenses to working a job somewhere, right? If I'm getting free money then fuck it, I'll stay home. You saw that big increase in the January BLS Job Report? You think maybe that might've had something to do with the fact that for many people the monthly childcare credit expired on the 1st of Jan? Take away the free money and what happens? People go back to work.

Exactly. There have always been charts that show people tend to find jobs about two or three weeks before their unemployment compensation ends - no matter how long it was for. If it was for 13 weeks, a jump at week 11. If it was for 25 weeks, voila!, found a job in the 22nd week.
