I didn't realize it until after the Charlie Kirk Memorial.

There are probably plenty who might defect from the liberal side and embrace conservative values more just because they see that it's right, but not be attracted to the religious aspect. In fact, that may turn many others away.

I had an uncle who used to say that he agreed with the religious right on moral grounds on nearly everything....except religion. He was actually an atheist himself. At times he grew annoyed at having to put up with so much religious preaching in order to participate in conservative events.

For her to forgive his killer just over a week after he was murdered is about as Christian a sentiment as one could express.

If all Christians acted in this way there would be more Christians I'm sure. It's about actions not just talk, and she acted in a way her faith dictates.
No one has proven he killed Charlie.

That was quite an amazing memorial for Charlie Kirk. All of the speakers were great, but wow; the strength and composure of Erika Kirk is amazing.

While I have not prayed for it for several months, one of the prayers I have prayed many times is for the Lord to reach out to those on the opposite side who are reachable and for them to accept Jesus in their hearts and their lives, and to see the errors of their ways and change their lives. In that prayer I have also stated that I realize some people are just unreachable, and to focus on those who are reachable, because there are far more of them than the unreachable.

While I was always familiar with Charlie Kirk and heard about some of the things he did, I like with many other things that I have not devoted as much time to only knew the works at the top of surface, I did not see the depth or power of his work. After the unfortunate loss of Charlie Kirk as a physical being on this planet (his spirit will never die), I got to see much closer the amazing things he accomplished, how his fearlessness and knowing things needed a change and he did it. Charlie answered my prayers of reaching to those that I have mentioned and winning them over, and that prayer is still being answered, it will continue to be answered. With now over 62,000 requests for new Turning Point chapters, it is just beginning, and I will continue to pray that prayer I mentioned more often.

As I close this post, I am not a perfect person, I make mistakes and have the humility to realize that while I with the help of Jesus have made many improvements in my life, and that I realize I have a long road ahead of me in continual improvement. Through the help of Jesus I will continue the improvements, but still keep the humility to realize that the best I can do is keep improving. I pray the same for all of you. God Bless.
To quote Tony Kushner from Angels in America:

It isn't easy, it doesn't count if it's easy, it's the hardest thing. Forgiveness. Which is maybe where love and justice finally meet.

To not allow us to grieve, to have closure without making it a food fight is so so over the top I don't know how to fully describe that except as some have charactertized it as 'demonic.'
It truly is amazing

That’s what it actually is in a Christian sense. Let me see if I can explain.

Let’s say I invite you over for a BBQ. You get ungodly drunk, kick my dog, start a fight and puke on my porch so we call the cops and have you arrested.

I can forgive you. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t going to be charged and prosecuted for fighting, animal cruelty or anything else. And I will testify honestly about what you did at the trial.

My forgiveness also does not include forgetting. So you will not be forgiven and invited back for another BBQ.

Let me add one more part. My forgiveness simply means I’ve let the retaliation for your acts go. I will not be persuing any vengeance toward you.
That is a pretty good definition of forgiveness I think, i.e. you won't retaliate against a person for his/her offense. You will pray for him/her. Not wish harm to him/her. But forgiveness does not mean you must allow him/her to offend or harm you in the same way again.

Too bad Trump followed her plea for unity by saying he disagreed with her then went on a rampage spewing his usual hate, lies, misogony, demands for revenge & his usual unhinged blather.

He should look in the mirror because judging by the shit he spewed today alone, shows he partly responsible for the division in this country.

Erika Kirk should think twice about associating woth someone like Trump along with his gutter talk.
He has nothing to do with this. Stop it, you should be better.

Sure, it may turn out he is a McGuffin.
That’s one massive conspiracy theory, requiring coordinated cooperation between the FBI, local law enforcement, the judicial system, the presidency and the entire news media

In other words, unlikely almost to the point of impossibility

Praying does nothing, it means nothing mainly because there is no god. It was a Bund Rally, the only things were Nazi Flags.

Isn't that what MAGA traffics in, outrageous and unbelievable conspiracy theories/

I tend to be a bit more hard-nosed when it comes to the whole forgiveness thing.

I guess being agnostic let's me look past the forgiveness part and concentrate more on the justice end of things.
It goes something like this, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone"

Her forgiving the murderer has nothing to do with him faces state charges, however.

He will more than likely die considering where he is at and what he did.

And if they killed the dog in cold blood, they could theorhetically get your vote for President.
