Zone1 I believe God is punishing the US

Yet God never uttered a single word kjw, anything He had to offer humanity came through Jesus, and anything Jesus said was filtered through two millennia of socio-political reediting

The 'ones who obey' thus become no more than that which the 'ones seeking control' wish to impart themselves upon

A grand example would be the NT / OT divide, time after time we read one scripture the other doctrine has a complete about face on

You going to tell us an all loving, all knowing God who existed before time itself decided to change His stance on all of His creation ?

~S~
This is NOT true. God has indeed preserved His Word throughout the ages. In times past, people FEARED God ("Fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom" says Proverbs 1 [I think it is]).

That is important bc when people fear God, t hey do not alter His Words.

You can argue all day long whether the Bible is the Word of God but I tend to think it comes down to faith, which cannot be proven in an absolute way.

Just the same, if something works, one should go with that, and Catholicism is the only thing that worked for me

Sometimes I think waht all this "Oh, the Word has been changed and mangled through history" stuff is really about is

making EXCUSES not to accept Christ and live the way HE wants.

Really?

you do know you're talking to a catholic that's ben run through all the 'education' the hierarchy has to offer as far back as when LBJ was in office, as well as having a huge family of followers advocating it.....

So , my angelically enlightened one , being you're THAT up on the issue, TELL US WHAT WE"VE MISSED!

~S~
I don't have that much time. Only God does

We have become a very materialistic society, & have lost the Christian charity we once more or less had. It's all about ME these days. There are good people in the US still, but I speak generally.

I think a good % of people watch porn. No wonder society is falling and can't get up. And Christians would rather go to a Joel Olsteen like "church" than go to the Church Christ Himself established on Earth.

I think God is fed up. I can't say I know God extremely well. He surprises me often. But I just keep getting the thought that He is punishing us.

Don't believe me? Look who controls things in this country. If you find out the details on THAT story... you will be thoroughly sickened, as those of us in the know are.
There is no 'god' as perceived by theists, thus the thread premise is ridiculous.

For this cause (marriage) shall a man leave his father and his mother and cleave unto his wife, and the TWO shall become one flesh. -- Jesus

Porn destroys that family bond.
It destroys the soul also. The Word says something like:

All sin is bad but the one who commits sexual sin sins against his own body... And the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

or WAS

until sexual sin was committed..

:(

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." ... no State Church in the United States ...

That has come to mean in the 21st century that NO Church should be allowed in the public forum.. I htink of the Johnson Amendment that shuts up pastors

The Founders appreciated ALL the Christian denominations and wanted them all to be free to speak and promote CHRIST, whom 95% of them believed in

.

The arrogance is amazing. People here feel that they have the right to demand that you pray the way they pray!

.
and know the Bible the way they "know" it!

which is this way (the Catholic haters):

1 quote scriptures selectively so as to hack away at anyone who doesn't believe as they do or interpret Scripture as they have chosen to interpret it

2 ignore 80% of Scripture, esp when if it sounds "too Catholic"

Government was Church ... to this day, Charles III is Head-of-State and Head-of-Church de jure ... meaning "in name only" ... actual power lies elsewhere ...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." ... no State Church in the United States ...
And that is all it means no infringement on Churches

well said!

Megiddo is the place in history where wars and the blood-shed of kings took place. (2 Kings 9:27; 2 Kings 23:29, and historically)

So Armageddon in Revelation is not about a great end time battle in our future. It was a sign to describe in apocalyptic language the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. In other words, just as there were slaughters in the valley in the past (sign pointing-Revelation 1:1), now in John's day, Jerusalem, which sits on a mountain (Mt Zion-2500 ft elevation), will experience slaughter.

There are 195 nations on the planet. Is god taking action for and against all of them? Has he always done that? If so, why has he been so ineffective? And what happened to free will? Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Mao's China, Pol Pot's Cambodia all had the free will to murder millions. If god is actively attempting to correct nations, why weren't these stopped? And if they were simply exercising free will as god sadly shook his head, what the F could the US be doing that would drive him to finally act? Letting black ladies sit in the front of the bus? Giving women the vote? Requiring guns be registered? Give us an F-ing break and find some other overused literary tripe to push your politics - and on a politics board.

The battle of Armageddon refers to the final war between human governments and God. These governments and their supporters oppose God even now by refusing to submit to his rulership. (Psalm 2:2) The battle of Armageddon will bring human rulership to an end.—Daniel 2:44.
The word “Armageddon” occurs only once in the Bible, at Revelation 16:16. Prophetically, Revelation shows that at “the place that is called in Hebrew Armageddon,” “the kings of the entire inhabited earth” will be gathered “together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.”—Revelation 16:14.
Who will fight at Armageddon? Jesus Christ will lead a heavenly army to victory over God’s enemies. (Revelation 19:11-16, 19-21) These enemies include those who oppose God’s authority and who treat God with contempt.—Ezekiel 39:7.
Will Armageddon literally be fought in the Middle East? No. Rather than being restricted to one area, the battle of Armageddon will encompass the whole earth.—Jeremiah 25:32-34; Ezekiel 39:17-20.
Armageddon, sometimes rendered “Har–Magedon” (Hebrew Har Meghiddohnʹ), means “Mountain of Megiddo.” Megiddo was once a city in the territory of ancient Israel. History tells of decisive battles that were fought in its vicinity, including some that are recorded in the Bible. (Judges 5:19, 20; 2 Kings 9:27; 23:29) However, Armageddon cannot refer to the literal area near ancient Megiddo. There is no large mountain there, and even the entire adjoining Low Plain of Jezreel could not contain all those who will fight against God. Instead, Armageddon is the worldwide situation in which the nations assemble in their last stand against rule by God.

God works in mysterious ways to work out His good purpose, but there is one thing He wants us to understand clearly. The struggle with evil and suffering in this fallen world is only temporary. For God has already won the decisive battle in this war, and His ultimate and complete victory is absolutely certain. And if the cross of Jesus Christ shows us that our God shares in our suffering, then the resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates that God’s triumph over evil is assured.

Though we can never give a full explanation of evil in this world, we do have God’s response to it. At the end of this age, when Jesus comes again in glory, our God will show Himself to be fully and completely just when “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Rev. 21:4). The Bible reveals a God Who is worthy of our trust even in the midst of our pain.

It's history.. Armageddon is symbolic of the battle in Jerusalem. The foreign troops that fought with Vespasian and Titus gathered at the plain of Megiddo in 66 AD.

Of course there's no mountain.
