He's correct to take action against the laptop repair guy. If you leave your car at a mechanic's shop can he legally use it as a getaway car from a bank heist? Nope.

He didn't pick the laptop up. So the laptop became his property. We know there is child porn on it, so in reality Hunter has no privacy rights and needs to be executed for that alone.
