Hungary passes constitutional amendment to ban LGBTQ+ public events, seen as a major blow to rights

The article is a total mischaracterization of the Amendment, and cites the ridiculous grouping created by the alphabet soup of initials.

The Amendment simply declares that there are two genders, male and female. That has NOTHING to do with homosexuality, lesbianism, or any other form of sexual irregularity.

It has two intentions, both of which are entirely appropriate for a government. First, it seeks to prohibit sexual mutilation (physical or chemical) of children, and second, it declares that nobody - especially government agencies - can be compelled to treat citizens in any way contradictory to their biological gender.

Editorially speaking, it is TRULY perverse that our sexual irregulars have allowed themselves to grouped in with trans people, who are nothing other than psychologically disturbed.

"LGBTQ+" my ass. It makes no sense.

These leaders have to understand the line they are walking. Do NOT violate and suppress rights. Protect the vulnerable, always, but do not violate peoples expression.

It is freedom that has made America so desired. Anyone from anywhere who becomes an American can do so with freedom and liberty to create, innovate, love who they want, produce creative art, movies and music.

Abusing kids with issues well above their age is not the role of education and such social issues have no place. Adults wanting to hold a parade for instance among age acceptable participants (not kids), who cares? Let them be free to celebrate as long as they aren't breaking laws through nudity and other weird actions.

My hope is that Trump doesn't take the bait that some will dangle in front of him to undermine citizens rights, it will backfire and cost him the libertarian, Independent and many minority voters. Protect the vulnerable such as men in womens sports, but don;t cross the line that is your Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Hungary can do as they please but it harkens back to their old Eastern Bloc days, not a good look
forcing others to declare your mental illness as normal is not a right.

Good point, Hitler used pink triangles to mark homosexuals.
Yours is an emotional response you people do not care about Homosexuals you are virtue signaling, people who want them to get help with whatever scarred them as children, care about them.

All of the letters or just rheT y'all Magahatters obsess over?
We obsess over them having a untreated mental illness, you not so much! Again another emotional response you do not care about them just how you think it makes you look compassionate for supporting them

Definitely not. Unlike the fake outrage of the right my position is that there is still a lot to find out about the very complex matter of gender and human sexuality. Calling anything that is not heterosexual a "mental illness" is just lazy.

You are an absolute idiot two questions what is the definition of a woman, and can men be pregnant

It is, an over domineering mother, a father who is too rough, or not there at all, relatives, or friends of the family that molest them! You can lie to yourself and others but those are the facts
There is zero proof for that. It's just propaganda.

Nonsense any of the things in LGBTQXYZ were considered mental illness till feelings got involved
That does not mean anything. Human sexuality is very complex and rather than bullying, shaming and shutting down conversation, real research into it should be encouraged.

Hungary just made it a Consitituional violation to hold LGBTQ events there. They will track errant criminals vis face tracking technology. Thoughts USMB?

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungary’s parliament on Monday passed an amendment to the constitution that allows the government to ban public events by LGBTQ+ communities, a decision that legal scholars and critics call another step toward authoritarianism by the populist government.

The amendment, which required a two-thirds vote, passed along party lines with 140 votes for and 21 against. It was proposed by the ruling Fidesz-KDNP coalition led by populist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Ahead of the vote — the final step for the amendment — opposition politicians and other protesters attempted to blockade the entrance to a parliament parking garage. Police physically removed demonstrators, who had used zip ties to bind themselves together.

The amendment declares that children’s rights to moral, physical and spiritual development supersede any right other than the right to life, including that to peacefully assemble. Hungary’s contentious “child protection” legislation prohibits the “depiction or promotion” of homosexuality to minors aged under 18.

The amendment codifies a law fast-tracked through parliament in March that bans public events held by LGBTQ+ communities, including the popular Pride event in Budapest that draws thousands annually.
coming to the USA faster than you could imagine.

Orban is the greatest Hungarian since Franz Liszt.

Franz Liszt on his own saw in France his motherland - although he had Austrian (German speaking) parents. He was in his life in many places in Europe - but not in Hungaria as far as I can see. I heard he learned the Hungarian language in 1870 - about 60 years after his birth. But I do not know why. Also in his later life I find no direct connection to Hungaria.

And the nationalistic Hungarian Victor Orban is the a great anti-European high traitor who speaks Hungarian but likes to make Hungaria to a part of Putin's Russia as far as I can see. I do not think Orban's nightmares have anything to do with Liszt's dreams. Franz Liszt was an European.
