How to solve the problem of prison overcrowding.

End the War on Drugs

End the War on Drugs

Unlikely to help in the least, more prisons will likely be necessary. States that have been legalizing drugs have also been imposing Draconian style regulations, as well as confiscatory taxes- opening things up for a black market.

Why is prison overcrowding even a problem? Criminals and dopers should be packed in there tighter than sardines. If they can't do the time, then don't do the crime. Let them suffer.

Or better yet, outsource our prison housing to countries like Myanmar, Philippines, or Mexico. It would cost taxpayers a hell of a lot less to keep them there.

No need. A comprehensive death penalty would thin their numbers.

It's beneath us to create conditions that would be considered torture. Even prisoners of war are supposed to be treated like human beings according to our laws.

Also just about every state is struggling to staff their prisons right now. Saturating prisons even more would create a security risk. Overcrowded prisons would be a breeding ground for diseases and shit like that as well.

Ask those prisoners if they felt the same way about their victims.

Build more prisons. :)

Not to worry- the democrats are fixing the problem as we speak by making everything a non-prosecutable offense.

Looting? No problem!
Burning? You forgot that corner store!
Drug dealing? Making people happy one addict at a time!
Drive by shooting? Do you need some gas money?

So higher taxes to build more prisons, and even higher taxes to staff and manage them, you know feed the prisoners, medical care, that sort of thing.

That is the technique we’ve used since the 1980’s, and it’s been working so well. Not.

But hey, we haven’t gone far enough. That’s all. We just need to keep doubling down until we finally have everyone in prison, and then, thank God, we would have ended crime.

Conservatives rightly mock Socialists when the Socialists are unable to point to a single successful Socialist/Communist nation in history. The asinine argument of we just need to do it more, bigger, or whatever, is mocked. Properly mocked in my opinion. It hasn’t worked, it can’t work.

But Conservatives are just as idiotic and wedded to their beliefs as Socialists, and threads like this prove it. Sure tough on crime hasn’t worked. But we’ll get even tougher. Unless we’re talking about the January 6th Coup Participants, and then we need to stop harassing good people. Or something.

If they run out of beds, they can always velcro a bunch to the walls.
