How to cut school costs and improve student health.

I am perfectly rational. I oppose gender education because the parents are not informed/involved. I oppose this hairbrained idea for the same reason.

The fact that you have nothing in response except personal insults tells me you can't defend your inconsistency
I asked you if anything related yo physical fitness is verboten in the public schools

And I never saw your answer

That's an aside. Answer mine first. WHY do you get to decide how much exercise other people's kids get?

Oh right. Because YOU think it's a great idea. Got it.

I answered your aside in post #11

Someone in government decided that the kids need to ride

there is no difference

But you refuse to answer mine

Is physical fitness part of the usual public school curriculum?

No, I have already addressed this. The school OFFERS transportation. You don't NEED to ride.

But if the school bus drops off the kids a mile from school what choice do they have?

Dude, can you ever just say, yeah this was a dumb idea on my part?

So when does the school become responsibile for the safety of the child?

When they leave the house?

When they get on the bus?

Does responsibility stop when the bus drops them off and they start the walk?

Will school be responsibile for hiring additional staff to walk with the students from the bus drop off point?

WW

Good questions.

In our state transportation is not even a law. The school is not required to provide it. But here you have so-called "conservatives" thinking it's a great idea for the bus to just stop a mile before the school and make the kids walk.

"Parents' rights" everyone

The same choice you already touted

Mom can drive them to school

And you still refuse to address my point

Most if not all public schools have some form of physical education that is required

But anyone who rides the bus MUST be dropped off a mile before school, because YOU think it's a great idea?

Why can't parents make the choice? Bus stops at the one mile mark for parents who want their kids to walk, and delivers the rest to the door.

Parents' rights. Yes? Or no?

You seemed to have nothing to say, because yeah, you were caught in inconsistency.

But here is how PE curricula is decided in schools:

It goes through a committee made up of admin, teachers, secondary students, and PARENTS in the district.

Then it must be voted on by the locally elected school board. If it passes, it becomes approved curricula.

But hey, don't need any of that stuff in Mac's world. Just get them kiddies walking, it's good for them. So Says You.

I’m not going to keep responding to your questions till you answer mine

Physical fitness is a normal part of public education, yes or no?

And in your world the pubic (myself for instance) is not allowed to have or express an opinion?

I guess you think I was somehow going to highjack the school bus and force my views onto everyone

You are far too irrational to discuss education issues with

Of course, you just did. Too bad your opinions are so inconsistent, huh?

It's interesting to me how when "conservatives" think it's a great idea, it's okay to usurp the wishes of the parents.

So you're comfortable with the govt deciding the children need to walk?

Huh.
What are the wishes of the parents?

Kids don't NEED to ride. Parents are capable of dropping off or letting their children walk.

But in your plan, the kids would be REQUIRED to walk. Right? You have made this decision for the parents--as a "conservative"--because you think it's good for the kids.

No different from the Left preaching on gender, etc. It's just that you like this idea
Ok. Let's tweak my plan. Only overweight kids have to walk. :)

We intentionally located across the street from an elementary, with the Jr High a quarter mile away and High School half mile away. There were no buses for them.
