ACA ended the subsidies that keep ERs open and many hospitals are outside of the ACA network. So, to the extent local law permits, such non-network hospitals will close and reopen as medical centers with Critical Care Centers.
The fact is that time to treatment is critical for actual emergencies and if the nearest official ER is to far the patient dies. How big an issue will these deaths be?
