The ladies & gentlemen in Africa may have made a BIG mistake when they demanded "independence" after World War II.

Some people feel that they needed more gentle guidance from their European friends on how to run a country so that there is a functioning economy & government.

Suddenly giving them "independence" resulted in chaos (for example, in the Congo).

Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) was doing very well under the tutelage of their leaders of European ancestry. Then there was an unwise demand for leaders of African ancestry and they got -- Mr. Mugabe!
