How IVF is complicating Republicans' abortion messaging

In a Republic, actually
"GOP lawmakers have spent years arguing that life begins at conception – the same basic premise that upheld the Alabama decision, which threw fertility clinics and patients in the state into limbo.

Since the Alabama ruling, Republicans have struggled to articulate what distinguishes their views from the court's."

It's more than ‘complicates’ the message – it exposes the right’s rank hypocrisy.

If human life begins at conception – if embryos are ‘children' – then Republicans must advocate that IVF be banned, any other position would be inconsistent and dishonest.

Unfortunately, the "Republican position on abortion" cannot be summarized on a bumper sticker.

For perspective, the official "position" of the Democrats on abortion is that no restrictions are allowed, up to and including the moment of live birth. About 10 percent of the population is on board with this disgusting position. Joe Biden claims that he wants to make "Roe v Wade" the law of the land by legislation. (He is an idiot).

The Republican position is that Dobbs was correctly decided, and the issue should be left to the representatives of the People, in the State legislatures. Within the States, Republicans lobby for the most restrictive regime that the legislature will implement. The Republicans have no position on any national abortion rules. It is up to the States.

What happened in Alabama is a wonderful example of HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK! A court made a decision that went against the wishes of the People, and the legislature took about a week to correct the situation.

Nonsense, IVF and abortion are completely separate issues.
That is a tone deaf position IMO, and one that is just putting one's head in the ground, hoping science and technology will just go away.

Reading the article, it doesn't seem that way to me. They are very much, intertwined.

WE MUST address this issue, understand its implications for the future, for both what the global elites have in store for making organs for transplant, and entire humans w/o the use of even wombs.

We know that's a lie, because almost all of the Democratic states with have abortion restrictions at around viability (Virginia is the one exception). And no Democrats have a problem with that.

The Republican position is that Dobbs was correctly decided, and the issue should be left to the representatives of the People, in the State legislatures.
That's also clearly a lie, given how almost the entire Republican party is now pushing hard for a nationwide ban.

Will you now call out the Republicans for being such liars and hypocrites?

Liar. Don’t be shocked, but the Democrat position on abortion won’t fit on a bumper sticker either.

Why would that be?

Why would the scientific truth that fertilization of a human ovum creates a separate human be grounds for banning one method of fertilization?

Either embryos are ‘children’ or not; and if so, IVF should be banned.

Republicans trying to ‘carve out’ an IVF exception is utter hypocrisy.

Conservatives can’t have it both ways.

I don’t think you’ve thought this through. Embryos are children, but that doesn’t mean we ban natural fertilization. Why would we ban in vitro fertilization because embryos are children?

It seems to me that IFV is complicating the democrat message.

Why do you support the vicious murder of dozens of innocent babies just to get one IVF pregnancy? By your own standards, that makes you a hellbound mass-murder supporter who is WorseThanHitler.

So, you're either a disgusting human who supports mass murder, or you're a cowardly liar.

Don't worry, everyone knows it's the latter case.

Pro-lifers lie about believing abortion is murder mainly because it gives them reasons to hate. Pro-lifers get a sick pervy sexual thrill from hating and controlling others. They're addicted to those pervy thrills, so they lash out at anyone who threatens their source of gratification.

Banning IVF or allowing unlimited fertilizations and destructions of embryos are not the only two options.

We can have IVF with common sense regulations to protect the dignity and humanity of the babies created via IVF.

We don’t ban natural fertilization just because some result in miscarriages.
