There is a difference in General Welfare and Individual Welfare.
The Federal Government can build Roads, Schools, Community Centers, Libraries, Athletic Facilities and whatnot ...
But it has not been granted the Power to make one Citizen responsible for another Citizen's individual debt or cost of living.

If someone is sent a check with their name on it ... There isn't anything General about it.
It doesn't even matter if think it is a good idea to help someone out ...

Sure it is. You give a poor person a check, he's not going to slit your throat looking for his next meal.

It's definitely good for the General Welfare.

Pay a woman to have a kid and she goes and haves more kids.

It doesn't matter if you think it is a good idea.
It doesn't matter what you think a poor person will do.
It doesn't matter if you think society will gain from the government dolling out money to whomever it wants to.
The Federal Government has not been granted the power to make one Citizen responsible for another Citizen's personal debt or cost of living.

No one is stopping you from doing whatever you can with what you have.
Get to it, and stop dreaming about what you can do with what isn't yours ...

Except it never happens. Most women on welfare are only on it for a few years, and a lot of them have jobs. (Just not jobs that pay well.)

Now, yeah, there are problems with the woman who has multiple kids by multiple partners... but it's not a government problem, it's a cultural one.

Sure it has. That's what we voted for in November, by the largest margin ever.

After Trump signed the Welfare Bill last year, we all became socialists. Deal with it.

How you voted in November doesn't grant the Federal Government the power to force one Citizen to assume the personal debt or cost of living of another Citizen.
It doesn't matter if you are Socialist, Communist, Libertarian, Conservative, or who signed what bill ... Deal with it.

I’m just thinking here and I don’t have some stupid link to someone else with a media platform. But how does this work out in the end?

Welfare pays better than not just minimum wage but really a thousand a week is getting into well paid profession territory. How do we correct that?

It can’t be done by raising taxes on those people with the jobs. It can’t be done with more government spending.

How do we get out of this now that 50k a year is the new poverty level? 15 an hour can’t compete.

So how do we get those 2 million jobs filled with people on welfare making more.

I had the TV on last night an large furniture guy on TV begging for workers ...advertising on TV

Needs salesman ,office help of every kind and his distribution center needs warehouse ,forklift operators ,woodworkers, and truck drivers.....he's advertising on friggin TV

Okay, you try explaining that to the IRS...

Oh, who am I kidding, it's not like you earn a living.

I am pretty sure you wouldn't consider what I do as 'earning a living', and I bet I pay more in taxes and at a higher rate than you do.
It's just a guess though, and I don't need to see your financials ...
