Kerry is second in line to the Presidency as Secretary of State, which, if Biden declines, it's his if something happens to Obama.

If Kerry brokers a peaceful solution in the Ukraine, I imagine even Republicans would support his winning a Nobel Peace Prize

Truth is, if he brokers a deal he will be giving in to an occupier.

There should be no deal.

Kerry needs to use his expertise to convince Putin that he has no right or reason to occupy any part of Ukraine and convince him to pull out.

But to make a deal? If Canada opted to protect Canadian Americans by occupying Buffalo, NY, would you expect the US to "make a deal" to get them to leave? ANd visa versa....would you expect Canada to "make a deal" so we pull out?

No deal. He needs to be convincing from a diplomatic standpoint.

A deal is a cop out.
