Interesting. I am half Polish, my mother is half German, making me 1/4 German, however the rest is English and perhaps a tiny bit Scots-Irish. My father left Appalachia right after high school and never looked back. In fact he did so well for himself that his parents followed him out west, for him to help take care of them.
