Within the provided document is some information on a new oceanic turbine that has been undergoing tests. How do you feel about this technology? Would you want to see this kind of technology find its way into the U.S? Do you think this would make a better alternative to other forms of energy production? Do you have any economic concerns with this technology? Why or why not for each, please.

As I have not posted in a while I would specifically like to note I do not care about aggressive responses with no point. My goal is to gauge how people feel about certain things and in turn, consider points of view I have yet to hear on this specific subject.

Someone do the math here:

1. The sea turbine's generating capacity is approximately 100 k

2. A small 1-megawatt coal or natural gas fired power plant can power about a thousand homes

3.There are 1,000 kilowatts in one megawatt

How many homes could this sea turbine provide power for?

a.) 1

b.) 10

c.) 100

d.) 1,000

First one to get the right answer wins a pet monkey. :laughing0301:

While I understand the humor, that was a post on the test( IHI Ocean Current Turbine | Tethys ) here is the actual development with the possible power generation...lol

Oh, and by the way, it is kW; it isn't measuring distance.:laughing0301:
