Zone1 How Do We Forgive Our Enemies When Some People Are Just Plain Evil?

I really should just quit this place, because much of the time when I read threads here I feel like I'm from another planet. 🫤
Yeah. I'm backing off. And, though I hate to admit it, it might just be time to "keep your head down". It's ugly out there, and it's getting uglier.

The Law of the Creator is that murderers should be killed.
When people wimp out and forgive murderers, they are saying that they are more righteous than Al Yah Shua....Christ.

As for "enemies"; as long as they are not trying to kill you, and return whatever they stole etc. go ahead and forgive them.

I really don't know how Erika Kirk did it. There are people on the left who are just plain demonic. They want us Republicans dead and are celebrating and glorifying the death of another and,... I'm supposed to love these demons?
I was once on the periphery of one man trying to financially destroy another man. While I was able to knock this plan off track, I found I simply could not forgive the man who was trying to destroy another. I was that furious. I was able to remove myself from the man's network, but I could not forgive him for what he tried to do to another. Yet I knew, as a Christian, I was called to forgive. My prayer to God was an admission I did not have the strength to forgive, at least not yet. I knew God had this strength and asked God to forgive the man until the day came I was able to add my own forgiveness to God's. There was immediate peace and remained for the two or three years that passed before I was fully willing and able to add my own forgiveness to God's.

My prayer for Erika is that if should she ever reach a point where she feels unable to forgive what the assassin did in depriving her children of their dad, that she not hesitate to ask God to carry this weight for her until such time she, once again, is able to offer the sincere forgiveness, she offered Sunday.

I see but Erika already did forgive him though. How do you lose forgiveness when you've already given it?

And why is that? Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus. If you can't accept what he taught, then you aren't a Christian.
The Messiah did not hate the soldiers who hurt and killed Him, but He did NOT forgive the Pharisees et. al. who slandered, tortured and killed Him and His followers. The Edomite Jews thought they killed Him, but they did not.
In Malachi 1-4 The King of His Universe says they (Edomites) are "people against whom Al Yah has indignation for ever. In Luke 19:27 He says, Bring those who would not that I be their king, Hither and slay them before Me.

God requires us to forgive all. That is how we become more like him.

But justice cannot be robbed.

So forgive, get out of the way and let eternal justice take care of things. God knows people's hearts and how to judge them. We should not.

but I want to know where Jesus wants us to draw the line
I think he was clear on what we need to do.
because we're supposed to hate Satan and all things demonic and evil
Where are you getting this from? Specifically?

When Jesus came, the law of Moses was fullfilled. He requires even more of us in terms of not hating.

Regardless, he is the final judge and knows best. NOBODY WILL SKATE.

Actually, God's forgiveness is quite different than man's forgiveness. For God let's nothing go. Every sin must be paid for.

Thus, God can forgive whom He chooses to forgive, because all sin has been paid in Jesus Christ. Man doesn't have the power to forgive like God. Man's forgiveness is simply not seeking revenge on the one who offended.

But man's forgiveness doesn't override God's institution of the death penalty in (Gen. 9:5-6) Erika, if led by the Spirit of God, can certainly of herself forgive the murderer. But man is required to take his life for the murder.

well it was either one or the other Quantrill

~S~

The one was under the Mosaic Law, which law we are not under.

The other was the Law for the future Kingdom upon earth, which we also are not under.

The Church functions by the Spirit of God. The believer, if led by the Spirit of God, can turn the other cheek, but he is under no law to do so.

But this pertains to the person only. Not to the responsibility of man to exercise the death penalty which was instituted by God. (Gen. 9:5-6)

Erika is not God. Just because she forgives doesn't mean God will. And God still requires the murderer to be killed. (Gen. 9:5-6)

Yeah. I think it's probably time to ditch this place as well. It's pretty much the worst of the worst these days. Bottom of the barrel.

As an aside, I don't often agree with Mac1958 on solutions, but I do often agree with him in terms of acknowledging the actual problems themselves

I'm reminded of something that he mentioned around here the other day...

That's all they care about: The cult.

Where a person actually stands on issues is irrelevant.

They're essentially feral now.

He pretty much nailed it.

Hell, they're even promoting them now.

It's a heck of a thing...

Btw, I don't think ChristisKing understood your point, because I don't think she would've given it a thumbs up if she got what you were saying.

I understood it. I understand that it's gotten out of control on both sides.

Wrong.
This is a one sided war that can't tolerate the right being in power

Okay, point taken.

Sounds like you don't understand the Bible.

As for "enemies"; as long as they are not trying to kill you,

The majority of the democratic party wants us dead.

Do you really believe that?!?! Take a deep breath. Go for a walk. Talk to people in your neighborhood. Many of them are Democrats. Do you think they want you dead??

The fear mongering is wormed its way into your head. That's what we must reject.

I'm talking about in government and social media.
