Bernie wasn't even a Democrat. He refused to join the party, refused to raise money for the party and refused to support Democratic candidates down ballot. I felt he was lucky to get the support he did.
It's not the Democrats who practice voter suppression. It was Republicans who were charged with felonies for voter fraud. The GOP is 90% white and the very definition of sleaze.

(CNN)A federal appeals court Friday overturned parts of North Carolina's 2013 voting law, including provisions that required voters to show a photo identification card, saying they were enacted "with racially discriminatory intent" in violation of the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act.
"We cannot ignore the record evidence that, because of race, the legislature enacted one of the largest restrictions of the franchise in modern North Carolina history," 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Diana Motz wrote.
This was the third federal court ruling against voter identification laws this month. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled July 20 that Texas' voter ID law violated the Voting Rights Act, and federal judges softened a Wisconsin law on July 19.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) A federal judge in North Dakota has blocked the state's voter identification law after it was challenged by a group of Native Americans. The group says that the state's voter identification requirements are unconstitutional and disproportionately burden and disenfranchise Native Americans.
U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland issued a temporary restraining order, ruling that the state's repeal of fail-safe provisions in 2013 resulted in an undue burden on Native Americans trying to vote. The lawsuit is backed by the Colorado-based Native American Rights Fund, along with Bismarck attorney Tom Dickson.
"We're certainly gratified by the courts ruling. These voter restriction laws that were enacted in 2013 and by the North Dakota legislature in 2015. They were discriminatory, they were unfair and more importantly they were completely unnecessary," says Dickson.
The lawsuit was filed in January against Secretary of State Al Jaeger by seven members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.
Jaeger says that they will follow the judge's guidelines.
