Having played a key role in culture and civic development, and also being a major factor in case of many wars, the historian in finds it useful to know some basics of them for context. Also it's interesting to see the exchange and flow of such.

Many early polytheistic 'religions' of the Eastern Mediterranean/Middle East shared the same pantheon of gods and goddesses only their names were different with each civilization. Suggests a strong linkage and like more cultural exchange and trade than may have been thought.

Did you change your beliefs? I seem to recall you not identifying as an atheist before. I think your position was you didn’t know if there is a God or not, you’re just certain it’s not the God of Abraham. Which is very specific and weird.

Exposing religion for what it is, an affront to G-d Himself and proclaiming the simplicity of the Gospel in light of man's true condition is why I have a keen interest. Especially in countercult apologetics.

seems the vast majority of existing religions are going the way of earths wildlife into extinction - the similarity would not portend a pleasant ending.

advice from the heavens to keep their sabbath, creation of life and garden earth - holy ... has been abused by humanity alone on earth and an outcome of their own making again a final conclusion surly not of rewarding festivities.

I have a general understanding of many religions but the knowledge doesn't run too deep across them all.

Any Faith that makes people peaceful and compassionate will always have my approval even if I don't share their beliefs about G-d and his Commands.
