Women's figure skating used to be the most valuable Gold Medal at the Olympics. Now, Ice Dancing is the best thing to watch.

Unfortunately I haven't had much interest in the Ladies' events after the banning of the Russians! I totally support their exclusion, but they were the power of Women's Singles for years, transitioning from Irina Slutskaya & Maria Butyrskaya! The Men ruled before that from Urmanov thru Plushenko! I miss them; including their colorful coaches! :stir: :cool::p

You could also watch paint dry or grass grow.
I just watched a YouTube video of the 1913 ladies’ figure skating. Talk about boring. She went around in circles on one foot, just like I can do - easily. She never even went backward, which I can do. I would have gotten the Gold that year!

It’s not that what they are doing isn’t difficult it’s that for 4 years at a time no one gives a **** about ice skating and then all of a sudden act like it’s the most interesting thing in the world for a month until they go right back to not giving a shit about it.

I enjoy watching it. Nice break from all that 24/7 Guthrie coverage.

The film “ Sunny Valley serenade” shows how an Olympic figure skating champion of the late 1930s skates, which is nothing special compared to even the 1960s.

There has been amazing advancements. And just when you think they’ve reached the pinnacle and it’s not humanly possible to do more…..surprise!

Watching them from a few decades ago is much different. The moves are faster, crisper and more stringent stopping when one part is over to move to the next part of the skater's act. Totally judged sports can cause divisiveness.

I went with "not much".

I don't spend much time watching commercial TV, other than some NFL and college football. As for the Winter Olympics, I've watched a bit here-and-there of things that have been posted on YouTube.

Same here! I watch little in the way of Commercial TV, spending quite a bit of time on You-Tube for hours on end! It's a lot more entertaining & I can avoid the insanity going on out there! Who's president? :p :dunno::auiqs.jpg::nono:

I am more interested in summer Olympics

And how is it with you?
I watch both the Summer and Winter Olympics. I do not watch all of the games but prefer to watch the women compete for the USA. I could not believe Chloe Kim fell and lost the gold medal. And I cannot believe Eileen Gu is skiing for China instead of the USA. I definitely thought Madison Chock and Evan Bates should have won the gold medal. I hope the women's and men's hockey teams get the gold medal for team USA.
