Housing justice; Free college; Free healthcare; Free daycare; BERNIE FOR the American middle class!

What makes my generation 18-29 yrs old broke?
College tuition and loans
Outrageous rent for an apartment
Medical bills
Insane daycare costs

Bernie will fix all this. How can we let a generation go broke with all the above, all while countless billionaires fly around the world on vacations and hire private chefs and pilots.

HOUSING JUSTICE was new tonight and its spot on!!!! 50% of all rental properties in all states should be capped rent, no more than 10% of the tenants monthly pay for rent

Whty should you get free college, housing, medical, rent, etc? I had to work two jobs to pay for college, rent, car, food, medical but I did it. I wouldn't go back and change anything about that either because I learned how to manage money and time.

College preps the workforce and its free in Europe, it benefits everyone

Healthcare is a human right. Full stop. End of story.

Im not asking for free housing/rent. Im saying rent should be capped at 10% of income
Healthcare is a fucking service. YOU are not entitled to someone's labor.
Healthcare is a human right

Only conservatives don’t believe so. They look at it as a benefit only for those who can afford it.

The rest? Not their problem
No it’s not a human right. It’s a human skill that few possess and few of those are actually excellent at providing. If you think healthcare is a right then have your mom take care of your illness.

Where is the right to healthcare in the Constitution?

The right to healthcare is not in the Constitution.

I'll bet you can't state WHERE in the Constitution we have a right to an attorney though.

Well, I have three in my family who fit your required age bracket.

The oldest two worked and PAID their way through college.
Walla! NO college debt.

The same two live on their own - the difference is they don't rent MORE than they can AFFORD!
Walla! Zero outrageous rent!

The same two purchase their own health insurance.
Walla! No medical bills

(OK, this one makes me laugh the most)

NONE of mine have insane daycare costs.
Why?
Because they are too smart to procreate until they can afford children.

Why must you be dependent on the Gov't for everything?

What happened to YOUR personal responsibility?

Or an electrician, a mason, a stucco specialist.

All those folks went to trade school or apprenticed under an expert, not college and I'd bet they are making more money than the college grads.

They will always have work, can't say the same for those college grads.

Most construction sites I see have more immigrants there than Americans... and I'm sure they didn't hire them for their high wages.

The entire problem with student loans and college tuition is that these students should never have been in college to begin with. They start off with being unprepared and go to remedial classes, which they take out loans to pay for. Then they choose majors for which there is no market. There are more art history majors than engineering majors. There is no market for the study of the structure of the Klingon Empire.

Never met anyone who majored in "The Klingon Empire". That actually sounds like a cool major, though.

Okay, going to straighten you out, because you are kind of stupid. Here is a list of the top 40 degrees by Major.

The Most Popular College Majors

5 - Engineering 117,553

There was NO LISTING for Art History. There were listings for "Art" and "History", both of which can open doors to jobs.

Let's see where they came in.

15 History 37,640
18 Art 29,022

So COMBINED they are barely half of the engineers we graduate.

Oh, there were no listings for "Black Studies", "Multicultural Studies" or "Women's Studies" like you redenecks seem to think they are teaching kids sodomy at.

Then when these poorly prepared and woefully ill educated graduates get out of school they want to be paid six figures because they have a college degree (in nothing). And to make things worse, the graduate still cannot read, write their own name or do simple arithmetic.

I would agree, a lot of people get "worthless" college degrees, but they are from places like "The University of Pheonix" and Corinthian University and other "For Profit" diploma mills that Betsy DeVos and the education establishment refuse to regulate or hold accountable.

College entrance exams were supposed to eliminate the worst of the unprepared but the standards have been lowered and excused away with race based standards.

Ah... the racism comes out.. that was inevitable.

It's easy for old folks to sneer at college students, but the fact is, we've created a system where we've locked these kids into debt and wonder why they support a mutant like Sanders.

To give you an example. When I went to UIC in the 1980's to get my degree in History... er. I mean "Management of things that Already Happened", the cost of tuition was about $1500 a year. Working a Minimum wage job, you could pay that off working $10.00 a week. Today, Tuition at UIC is about $17,000 a year. You could work a full time minimum wage job, and STILL not be able to meet tuition costs.

And UIC was supposed to be the affordable college that black kids who couldn't get into Urbana enrolled in. Today, black enrollment at UIC is less than 9%, even though it is smack dab near downtown Chicago.

LOL. You are unknowingly an advocate of socialism for the extreme rich, but rugged individualism for the rest of us. Why?

1. Work Study Programs

2. Work you way through

3. Work at a job where your major will be paid by the job

4. Night school

5. Community College, then transfer

6. ROTC will pay a full scholarship

7. Take eight years….ever hear of anyone asking ‘how
much time you spent in college..?’

And a very careful analysis of one's major.
Very careful

Okay, let's look at that list.

Let's eliminate #6. Anyone who ever served in the Army would love to see ROTC go away. Talk about a useless way to select officers.

2. - That' silly. Again, as I said above, college costs have risen far beyond what can be earned working a minimum wage job.

7 - taking 8 years usually means never finishing. Other stuff comes up.

3. Why should businesses pay your way through when they can get INTERNS to work for free.

5. Community colleges really don't prepare you for real college. When I graduated high school in 1980, I went to one of the City Colleges in Chicago and found the coursework LESS challenging than High School. I transferred to UIC after one Semester.

The thing is (before the Mail Order Bride from Hell starts whining about me) is that I consider myself lucky. I was able to pay for college through the Army, back in the 1980's, Minimum wage allowed me to work my way through the rest of the expenses. These kids can't do that today.

The OP says FREE 3 times on the header for this thread.

Anybody get the feeling that the OP can't make 15 cents, let alone enough money to pay for any 1 of the 3 claimed that need be free!

Why do you equate prosecution by the state for criminal charges that might imprison you with a disease you caught not using protection or whatever?

Before Globalism occurred, welfare of individuals were initially the responsibility of a legally responsible relative. With the advent of the shift from rural towns to manufacturing city centers, welfare became the responsibility of localized cities and communities that were self-sustaining. It was still labeled charity at this point.
Globalization occurred and as a result, many towns and cities were no longer self-sustaining. Charity morphed into Federal welfare to the degree that now, pure Socialism demands that healthcare is a right, college education is a right, affordable housing is a right, eating is a right, committing crime is a right, illegally crossing our borders are a right; with the bill to be footed by law-abiding corporations and taxpayers.
Looks to me like Globalism was and continues to be THE MAIN PROBLEM along with those who support it and have invented all of these new rights.
Charity was never an effective way of caring for the poor.

It was dependent upon the local economy, was not equally applied to all, and left many uncovered.

The Great Depression demonstrated the limitations of local charities

Is it NOT true that the Left blames all this inequity on the rich and wants to punish them for their nastiness?

What if WE were to remove "the RICH" from their argument, and replace it with "Jews?" Who would that sound like!

So, you are unable to distinguish when the state is going to go after you for something YOU HAVE DONE as opposed to going after a Doctor who has done NOTHING to you.

Is that your stance?

Your health is in your hands. If you can pay for someone to care for you when YOU are sick, more power to you.

If you face legal charges based on what the GOVERNMENT is going to do to you, then you have a right to protection from THEM. I don't think you'll get it though.
