We will, but you have to keep your word and mass suicide.

Well, here we go again. I guess there needs to be room for more tax cuts for the super wealthy.
From your link:

The Republican Study Committee proposed a budget for fiscal 2023 that would gradually increase the eligibility ages for Social Security and Medicare, and change the Social Security benefit formula for people 54 and younger, while not changing it for people closer to receiving benefits.

Outstanding!

I've been saying for a looooong time that we need to increase the eligibility age to 70 and index it to 9 percent of the population.

We are living longer, we should be working longer. This is just plain common sense, and inevitable.

People retiring earlier, not later, is what would help the economy.

Wrong. People draw from the treasury when they are retired. Drawing from the treasury for longer and longer periods is not good for the economy.

We are living longer, we should be working longer. That is just plain common sense. And inevitable.

In 1945, there were 41.9 workers to cover each Social Security beneficiary. By 1960, there were only 5.1 workers per beneficiary. Today, there are only 2.8 workers paying taxes to support a growing number of beneficiaries. This trend, which will continue to increase financial pressure on Social Security, is a result of the aging U.S. population.

[snip]

As noted by the Social Security Administration (SSA), since the program first began paying monthly Social Security benefits in 1940, the average life expectancy for men reaching 65 increased from 77.7 to over age 82.9 in 2016. For women, the average life expectancy increased from 79.7 to nearly 85.5 in this period. “And those are just averages. About one out of every four 65-year-olds today will live past age 90, and one out of 10 will live past age 95.

Making people work into late 60s is both cruel and immoral. The workforce has an excess of workers as it is.

An excess of workers? Where are you getting this from? You are delusional.

As for working, what is cruel is to make a smaller and smaller number of workers support a larger and larger pool of retirees.

We are living DECADES longer than our ancestors. We should be working longer.
